Attended A&E on 31st December 2022...staff so friendly and helpful. A special thanks to Dr. Amy Keating I think who went beyond the call of duty and got transport sorted back to our hotel at 1am..it was so much appreciated. Thanks again you are all doing a great job
I recently visited South West Acute hospital concerning an injury. I could not have asked for better treatment! The receptionist was very kind & welcoming, the nurse who dealt with me was amazing & made me feel at ease as was the Radiologists. I was seen very quickly with no problems at all. I know the healthcare sector gets alot of bad feedback so I just wanted to leave this review here in the hopes one of them sees it. We are very lucky to have all you nurses & doctors & we very much appreciated all your hard work. Thank you!
Buses are not so frequent. So know the bus timings.
I recently had a fall 12 stitches covid and numerous tests , I stayed a month and a day in swah, ending up in ccu. Words can't do justice to the care I got from Dr, and nurses down to the cleaners. I had many a lonely days in ccu. If the nurses seen I had a bad day they would come in seen I was okay. These words do not do justice to the care I got . I cannot thank the Dr nurses enough after spending a month I felt like one of the family.cant thank them enough I owe my life ro them thank you swah great to have you so near. THANK SO MUCH.
I was took to a+e in march and I was waiting 30 minutes in a waiting room and then I was took down the hall to another waiting room I was waiting 2 hours in the other one but it isn't their fault
I am extremely frustrated about the lack of care my elderly mother with dementia received while she was staying in the Covid department ward8 of SWAH. Once I brought her home , I found her and her clothes completely soaked in her own urine with no underwear on, despite having full luggage of clothing brought to her wasn’t used. This is unacceptable considering she is an elderly with special needs and I was promised that she would receive all the care necessary. So be aware before admitting your elderly relatives to ward 8 of this hospital.
My wife and I arrived at the SWA in the early hours of the morning due to the impending arrival of our second child. From the very beginning all of the staff and facilities were excellent, but in particular we felt that the Nurse Rosie and Midwife Sonia really went the extra mile when attending to us for the entirety of the birth process. They were so professional, friendly and supportive that we could not have hoped to be in better hands. Thank you all very much from the whole family.
While I received no medical treatment here, the staff at the reception were extremely accommodating to me when I needed a place to wait for a call out mechanic - allowing me to use their phone and power outlets. Having spent a lot of time in hospitals in the Republic, I can also note this was one of the nicer I've ever been in - though that may be an indictment of the state of our health service more than anything!
The hospital is sparkling. The staff are friendly and are efficient. My mum is in ward 8 and loves the private rooms but she says that she can feel lonely as she hasnt got anyone else to talk to. The big problem is the visiting times between 3 and 4 and public transport. There are buses that can get you to it for the 3 oclock visiting but the next one home leaves the hospital at 6. They dont run at weekends. The visiting times cant be adjusted so its either you visit between 3 and 4 or not at all. Which is a problem for people who rely on public transport or for people who work and want to visit family. Only 1 visitor per patient and I am not sure if other family members can visit on the days I cant.
