Beautiful place, well preserved nature Playground: Nice place for kids to play Restrooms: Not very clean, but working. Dog-friendliness: Very friendly place for dogs, many people walking their dogs here. Picnic area: Beautiful place to spend quality time
Excellent riverside walk with two excited off lead dogs. Make sure you have mud proof wellies or footwear. Plenty of space for children but keep an eye on water safety especially when the river is high.
It's a lovely place, by the river, plenty of places safe to go for a paddle
A local spot for me. A wide open space in the bend of the River Nidd, accessed over a bridge from Conyngham Hall car park or cross High Bridge, opposite entrance to Mother Shiptons through Foolish Wood on the other side of the river at the start of the Beryl Burton Cycle way at Bilton Field. A great place to give the dog a run and a paddle in the river and for a family picnic. Look out for Kingfishers.
Lovely area for walks and picnics or fishing.
Lovely place for a walk. There’s parking there but it’s 10 min walk from the town centre if you choose to park there. Scenic with some old castle ruins there, then it’s right next to the river so great for the dogs.
A lovely place to go with the family. The area is very scenic and although it can get busy on warm days, I would definitely recommend anyone to go.
It's as it say a field in the shape of a horseshoe hence the name it sits on the banks of the river Nidd great place to take ur dogs for a run rounding kids or just to walk along and watch the waters of the Nidd flow by rich in wild life if u know where to look having grown up on knaresborough I will say its one of my favourite places ut if you do decide to visit please don't leave anything behind but ur footprints
Horseshoe field looks spectacular having been allowed to returned to meadow. I'm no Bill Oddie but the wildlife also seems to appreciate it. As does our Labrador!
This is a lovely easy walk, ideal for dogs too. Lots of space, so even if its busy you wouldnt really notice. Plenty of parking nearby, places to eat and friendly coffee shops along the river.
