I attend this school and I give this school three starts because THIS SCHOOL NEVER CLOSES. If there was a snow blizzard it would probably be open. Sometimes I feel sick so I go to the medical room but max minutes is TWENTY MINUTES. A lot of the teachers are rude especially this teacher called ms benga or something, she was screaming at a girl because her popcorn fell out of her bag when she wasn’t even eating. The older year groups are really mean especially when everyone is walking down the stairs and they tell you to hurry up. It is so cold in classes and they say you have to take your blazers and coats off. The lessons are really boring and we learn the same thing over and over again. You need a note for little things for example going to the toilet which really wastes time. We don’t get to use our mobile phones which is a big problem. The food is sort of gross sometimes and I’m not vegetarian but the vegetarian meals NEED to be improved. The school council is no help whatsoever and should be re - elected. We don’t even get to sit where we want for lunch, which isn’t the nice secondary school experience. You are one minute late so you get a forty minute detention that doesn’t start until everybody gets in. All we do is read in tutor time which I really don’t like. We also need parents permission for everything for example they need to sign our planners, make us notes to say we have an injury and can’t do PE. Ms Ongley is really nice and helps us, she is one of the best teachers. I also like miss Garcia and ms Saunders because I have them for some lessons and they are really nice to me. The history lessons are really good and we actually gain knowledge. There are way too many LGBT campaign posters which make me annoyed since we all have our different religions. We should be able to download stuff onto our computers and be able to do what we like at library. Now my biggest problem is the lessons: we have too much science. We learnt the same things for like a month. The year 11’s smoke. We don’t have enough drama. We get threatened. They need to fix those stinky toilets. There also isn’t enough food sometimes because one on a Monday I wanted some mac and cheese but it was finished so I just had a dessert and shared food with my best friend. That all I have to say so I give hornsey 3 stars

I think hornsey school for girls is horrible this is because the students are rude and they speak back to the teachers and their is no respect some students in year 11 smoke behind the trees. and some students threatened me if I tell a teacher that they have been smoking behind the trees they are gonna do something bad to me. Some of the teachers can't teach like when I had a supply teacher I asked them if they can help with a maths question and the teacher said do I look like a maths teacher then one of students had to teach the class because we did not understand. We get supply teachers very often and most of time they put them in a subject that they don't understand so when we asked them they don't have a clue. A teacher in maths was teaching us things from the old curriculum for 4 months and we did not know until he got fried and we had another teacher. The sudents in hornsey that are in year 8 bullied me and said that I have a spotty face and I'm ugly and I have no friends and and everybody hates me. And that my hair is disgusting I'm so skinny and I don't eat. In hornsey they have very low attendance most students don't go to school or they just walk around the school and not go to class. My old English told our class if we see the student that did not come to his class for month we should tell her to come back to school. The toilets in the school is very disgusting because the toilets always blocked and their was poo on the floor. They don't always have Enough food for the students because one student asked the dinner lady can she have some food and the dinner lady said their is no food left. And the parent pay system is not good because one of the students parent put 10 pounds in their account for lunch and the 10 pound never came through she asked the teacher the 10 pound didn't come through to her account the teacher said wait tell tomorrow and the 10 pound still hasn't come through to this day. In hornsey you have to wear the lanyard if you lose you have to buy another one that's ok but at the end of year 11 you have to give back but if you paid for it they should let you keep it or at least give the money back. I hornsey school for girls the school is very cold and their is not heating because every time I went into the class it was always cold and everybody wanted to keep their coats on but the teacher said they can't do anything about the heating and that we school just keep our blazers on.

I went to this school, no I didn't make no noise. I was there from 1996-2004. I loved this school so much that I really and truly didn't want to leave it.

My daughters go to this school and honestly I have seen very good teaching. The girls get inspired and motivated to do their best. Regarding students, yes there might be some "disruptive" students but as far as I know the school deals with them immediately and professionally.

I went to this school between 2002-2007 when we were transitioning headteachers (Jean Leberet to Andy Yarrow). I had an amazing time there, the teachers were sincere, helpful, and human. They really tried to connect with each girl that went there. There was never a dull day- between the girls or the teachers. Multiculturalism was highly respected during my time there and we all got on. I have many fond memories there and did averagely well (I think). I went on to graduate at the London School of Economics in 2012. I would not be the lady that I am today if it wasn't for the foundation I received at Hornsey. The teachers who were employed then really, genuinely cared and they weren't afraid to show us their insecurities or teach us things they went through when they were our age. The teachers would sometimes sit with us in the dining hall and ask us our opinion about things regarding the school etc.. (Our opinion mattered). I wonder what happened to this school? It's sad for me to read these negative reviews. I wonder who on earth is there teaching?
