The initial quote of 4k was competitive to others for repairs to our roof. However this jumped first to 6k and then to 14k once work started as additional problems were found. Why these weren't found or warned about during the initial quote or earlier inspections wasn't made clear. We got an alternative quote for the additional works which was substantially cheaper so went for that.

I contacted Horncastle &Sons on Mon the 4th of Sept 2017. Wanted to arrange for a quotation for the re-roofing of our apartment block. Was told that I can expect a call back on the same day and communication via e-mail. I am still waiting a week later today being Sunday 10 Sept. If they were over committed with existing work I expected them say so. Will definitely not spending our leaseholders money with them. Their loss and overall a very disrespectful service.

Brilliant service - not the cheapest quote but their staff are great and we got a beautiful new roof with a 10-year guarantee. When we got a tiny leak a few years later, they were swift to check it out and fixed the problem without fuss. Can't ask for more really.

E17 area, Quote was midrange out of the 4 I had done, but the quote was the most comprehensive in details of exact work to be done, with a description of potential extra's and so forth, they did an excellent professional job. I am very pleased with the quality and standards of the completed work

I'd seen Horncastle hoarding on other slate tile roofs in the area (Dalston, Hackney) and found their quoting to be more but mostly accurate( they uncovered rot in the dorm windows that was additional and insulation) the installed a good roof-with 10 year guarantee--Still had some issues with small leaks which they fixed quickly --this was not from their work but joining roofs- I recommend Horncastle as an old traditional roof needs specialists such these and there are lots and lots of bodgers out there that will end up costing you more in the long run!
