We had the pleasure of doing some work at Hopton Cottage a few weeks ago and if we were blown away by the quality of the home, we were absolutely amazed at the quality of the care provided.nnIn our line of work you get to see 'behind the scenes' and it was great to see the care and attention provided to residents 24/7 by the entire team.nnKind, caring, compassionate, attentive, sensitive, understanding.....you could list the superlatives all day long but one thing is for sure - when the time comes we want our rooms booked at Hopton Cottage!
Consider we were extremely fortunate to have found such a welcoming, homely and caring home for my 99 year old mother. Staff provide very individual care and treat older people with great respect. Although mum's room was not overlooking fields railway line - great if you're a train spotter!, she had her own patio door and outside area which is so much nicer for privacy and a feeling of being in her own home.nFurnishings are of a high quality and the standard of decoration is quality too - no scuffed paint or outstanding repairs. Activities provided are exceptional and staff ensure all have the opportunity to participate. Food choice and quality I would say is marvellous and the small things such as napkins routinely being part of the place settings makes a difference. There are always lovely fresh flowers in communal areas too.nnWouldn't hesitate to recommend Hopton Care Cottages.
If you are looking for a Care Home for a loved one, you are probably going through a really tough time. So, when you visit the homes you want to have as stress free time as possible in a welcoming environment with staff who obviously enjoy their jobs and care for the residents.nnWe went to Hopton Cottage Care Home and were made to feel really welcome and valued. Mum was made a fuss of and she stayed for dinner whilst we went home for the afternoon. When we collected her she had had a lovely time. We were offered a room for Mum and she moved in that weekend. She has a lovely room with a patio area, en-suite bathroom and view overlooking fields. We've put tubs of flowers on her patio and a bird feeder which attracts a large variety of species.nnShe has been a resident now for almost a year and she loves it. There are activities every day, including walks around the local area, visits to local attractions [and pubs!], knitting circles and reminiscence sessions. The buildings are kept in excellent repair, spotlessly clean and the food is excellent.nnI would not hesitate to recommend anyone to trust the care of their elderly relative into the hands of Joseph and his team, this is a real gem of a care home.
The staff at Hopton Cottage Care Home are great. My mum is treated with dignity and kindness. Any requests I make are seen to. Mum is content and sees the other residents as family. I am able to relax as she is so well looked after.
We chose this home for my mother who was starting to find life at home alone difficult. We are pleased we chose Hopton as mum has settled in really well. She is eating well again and has gained weight. She is even going out and about again with staff and other residents and seems to have regained her confidence- she's always been a very independent person. The admission process was easy though we had to wait as they had no vacancies at first. I'm glad we did. I live away but the manager keeps me very well informed of how mum is doing and has even sent pictures of her doing some flower arranging which was lovely. Very impressive place- well run and has given us real peace of mind as a family
