Unfortunately the store is closing down soon, so they are selling everything off cheap. Tradesmen seem to be taking advantage of the situation.
Good collection of indoor plants and garden equipment, reasonably priced
Very good range for a variety of items. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Bargains, unfortunately they are shutting down. Lots of last minute final sale, upto 60% off stuff. But here is another retailer shutting it's doors. It always seems to be around Christmas time, ensuring all the employees have a great Christmas. On the plus side, it's the only way of getting Christmas time off in the retail sector.
Excellent service from exceptionally helpful staff. Couldn't find enough tins of the paint I wanted but they checked their system and I had two assistants scouring the shop for them. Also, whilst waiting, I heard one assistant give quite technical advice on electric switches to a customer, which is unusual in other stores. I was really impressed and always make a point of shopping there for my DIY needs.
I went in to hombase on the 31st of January, paid them £2800 for a fitted wardrobe, this includes the fitting cost.I've been in touch with them several times and visited the store again 2 weeks ago to find out what was happening with the wardrobe, they didn't know.I did get a £200 refund,because the lady that came out to measure up originally,got it all wrong ,this I found out from the fitting company's surveyor, not from the lady in home base..I managed to get the fitting company's phone number and am now dealing with them directly, the assistant in the store said she would definitely ring me and let me know what was happening the Tuesday after the bank holiday,that was 2 weeks ago,she hasn't bothered.my advice to anyone buying fitted items from home base is, if you want decent service and don't want stress,go elsewhere.
Disorganised and the actual item you want often isn't there. Staff lovely and always happy to try and help - but usually thwarted by their systems. I'm not sure why I keep going ... Perhaps it's because they were good and I'm wishing for the past?
Absolutely horrific service today in the Wakefield homebase. Some people should not work in retail if they cannot be bothered to speak to their PAYING customers with respect. If it wasn't for the fact that I desperately needed the item that I bought I would have walked out of the store. Safe to say I will not be going back in again. Rude and incompetent staff. Wanted an item, a staff member rudely and abruptly informed me there was "only what is out" whilst giving up and walking out of the store I noticed 4 of these items and was informed by a staff member ignoring customers but overheard her speaking to another staff member that there was a further 4 in the back and she was keeping the ones I had noticed on the side for herself! Furious of how the staff here quite clearly are not interested in their staffs custom.
Finally closing down, not sure when but now is your chance to buy some DIY stuff for a reasonable price before was too expensive. Expect the usual out of stock, but with an excuse! Worth a look to get some items to stick in the shed until needed.
Wouldn't say a wrong thing against them until Monday. Phoned them to put me 4 denby truffle striped plates away. The guy who answered the phone said he would save me them went in yesterday to find they hadn't been saved and they'd all gone. The girl who answered saved me 4 cups saucers denby truffle last week. She didn't give me there not supposed to save any but would on this occasion. So I'm not surprised its closing if thats a sample of good customer service skills these days I've been in retail my self and never that attitude with the customer. ITS DISCUSTING. The years we've gone in that store and what we've spent over the years. The poor girl that was on was left to face the music. It wasn't her fault but I told her that it was discusting. It was a young chap that picked up the phone. I hope you read this review HOMEBASE
