HIC is a one stop DIY shop for everyone and has a wide range of stock for use in the trade industry.

Story

Established in 1981, the Home Improvement Centre has evolved from a Builders Merchant, dealing mainly with the trade, into a "one stop DIY shop" for everyone in the community and beyond.

Our experienced and knowledgeable staff can help with everything from the ordinary to the most bizarre requests to solve your DIY problems.

We have an extensive range of products and brands in store and provide a Special Customer Order Service where non-stock items can be ordered specially for customers (conditions apply). Please ask us for more details.

"Home Improvement Centre is a family run shop based in Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis. We supply a vast range of products from gifts, mirrors, pictures, candles, door mats, cleaning products, bathroom, bins, pans, bakeware and utensils in our household dept to tiles, silicone, adhesive, varnish, paint, and brushes in our decorating dept. We also stock fire grates, ashpans, companion sets, coal buckets and fire guards. In addition to screws, bolts, brackets, drills, saws, halogen heaters, lawnmowers, MDF sheets, plywood, timber beading and cladding, electrical goods, and plumbing."
