Sadly it was just good and for us it was the weakest Michelin Restaurant we experienced. Dry sage leaves were put in almost every meal, which I’m not a fan, and it was a lot of salt. And don’t get me wrong I do like salt, but I was thinking that every plate will give me something new, and after mainly salty taste everywhere I was thinking that maybe it’s a preparation for really sweet dessert, but apple variation wasn’t really sweet, which make me sad about whole experience.nYou might think that dark atmosphere is nice, but it makes food look less colourful, less sexy and less vibrant - which influence your experience imo. Maybe cover eyes dinner would work better.nPlus for fresh truffles which you can buy if you want and for interesting and diverse tableware.nNice and eloquent waiter.nIntimate atmosfer which just few tables.
This was a very different experience for us, because you get to see the chefs working/preparing while you eat. They also all come up to talk you through the meal.nIt was a really lovely experience and felt personal. If you had any questions, they were happy to answer.nThe food was all delicious and didn't feel pretentious. As the menu changes regularly, we'll have to come back at some point!nWe didn't utilise it, but they offered alternative menus for any/all dietary requirements.
Don't be fooled by the understated ambience of this little gem of a restaurant as what you will experience once sat down is nothing short of the most exceptional gastronomic journey you could ever imagine.nnOn arrival we were warmly greeted by the waiting staff and shown to our table. The restaurant is small but wonderfully intimate - further enhanced by the close proximity to the open-plan kitchen where you can watch every plate of food being prepared. The service throughout our meal was spot on - attentive without being stuffy and overly formal.nnWe ordered the surprise 8 course tasting menu - both of us are vegetarian and James was more than happy to cater for this. Each course was immaculately presented without being pretentious and beautifully described to us. More importantly every dish was exquisitely flavoured. James managed to balance richness and depth of flavour whilst still achieving an incredible lightness to his food. The produce seasonal of course was treated with respect and techniques were applied intelligently to achieve the optimum flavour. It's hard to pick a favourite dish as every one was a stand-out in its own right but if I was forced to pick I would say these three were highlights: carrot and tarragon; pumpkin and goats cheese; parsnip and beetroot. The quality of the wine was also superb.nnPerhaps what made this eating experience truly special was the fact that James and daughter Georgia serve much of the food themselves and it was such a privilege to talk to them about their passion for what they do. This is not a cheap meal out by any stretch but if you are looking for a truly unforgettable restaurant experience that will be the highlight of your year then this most definitely will tick that box!
Great food, impressive service, really personal.nThoroughly enjoyed it.nYou'll need to save up though, the addons are too tempting!
Had the most fabulous experience at Home.. From the moment you step through the door and past the drapes, you know you have arrived somewhere special. In short, the food was spectacular, and the service and atmosphere were superb. Would highly recommend.
