It was Armed Forces Day and I wanted to reflect and look at something historical with a theme of servitude that was close to me.nI had been advised to visit the Maritime Museum by a friend and my first impressions were greeted by friendly volunteer staff who had the time to chat and welcome myself and my wife.nWe paid our entrance fee and entered and were again greeted by an ex lifeguard volunteer who had a wealth of knowledge of the exhibits on display, local knowledge and a passion for sharing.nWe felt incredibly at ease and were impressed with the amount of exhibits, and museum pieces carefully and thoughtfully arranged in such a limited space, most definitely worth a visit if your ever in Holyhead.
Nice place to explore, staff / volunteers were nice and friendly. Lots to see , worth a visit
Nice small museum about naval history around the region. Friendly staff to guide you through. War time bomb shelter also included in ticket price. Admission Free for children.
The place was very interesting and well worth a visit having its own genuine air raid shelter the staff are very helpful and friendly
Great little local museum. The building is really small, but it's jam packed full of local memorabilia of the seafaring history of Holyhead, and Anglesea in general. The air raid shelter has loads of local memorabilia from both World Wars and the Falklands conflict.nThe staff are very friendly and welcoming, and the guides are full of interesting facts about the exhibits and the time they came from.nDefinitely worth a look if you're into history.
