One of the greatest modern monasteries. The life of the monks there is incredibly rigorous and devoted to the community. They host services multiple times a day, all which are well worth your time. The monks there are deeply committed to the work of reconciliation between Catholics and Protestants within Ireland. If you are a Christian and are in the area, spending an hour or more at the monastery and with the monks would likely prove to be a highlight of your time in the area.
This retreat was ideal for someone wishing to get away and do absolutely nothing. Peaceful grounds to walk around etc. The food served was excellent, albeit I did feel very rushed to eat it. The website indicated that there would be more interaction with mindfulness activities and fellow retreatants. However that was not the case and certainly there was no opportunity to understand the lifestyle of the brothers in the order. The services were atmospheric and did impart a feeling of spirituality. Accommodation was excellent with ensuite facilities. Worth going to, but be prepared to do absolutely nothing, and if thats what you need, it would be perfect.
It was an amazing experience, a beautiful landscape, a comfortable place to spend time in prayer and meditation.

Beautifull peacefull monastry, silence allows time to hear the Lord and participate in any of the sung services by the brothers.nAccomodation and food good. Also beautifull garden to walk and enjoy.
