I love this place! I've been here a few times. The cakes are so tasty and staff that served me friendly and professional. The carrot cake with the icing is amazing. I hate icing but this is so good! I do wish the slices were bigger though haha. I do understand it's a business. The raspberry cake was too lemony for me. I love the early grey cake. Their cakes are not dry, but moist which is how it should be. All slices were £2.50 each. I definitely recommend this place.
Love this bakery. Lovely staff, great service & most importantly very tasty bread, cheese, cakes & much more! They have Pizza Thursdays, they do Cheese Tasting Evenings, what more can you ask for. And it’s 5 minutes from my house - a perfect location. There’s parking too x
Holtwhites is just the best. Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable service. The baked good are always excellent quality and a great selection. Popped in at lunch and all the sandwich options were sold out but I was happy to wait while they knocked me up a baguette. I cannot resist their cinnamon buns, so good. And so pleased they have secured a Palmers green premises now too. Exciting.
A real treat. Always come here for my iced coffee, very strong & tastes quality. Lovely selection of cakes & best bread ever. Only suggestion is to get some syrups in for the coffees
Horrific experience!!! After visiting Holtwhites Bakery in palmers green on Tuesday for the first time. I was very impressed with there coffee and a almond croissant. All the Christmas puddings, hampers and cakes also look superb! I asked the lady serving me if they made cakes as it was my sisters 40th birthday and my nieces 14th birthday this Sunday, she said that they did but I had to order online. I ordered a Victoria Sponge cake, my late mum always made it on our birthdays, this would be the first birthday we celebrate without her. I also ordered a lemon birthday cake, my sisters favourite. I arrived at the Enfield shop to collect my cakes at 13.30 really excited to pick up my cakes. I was greeted by a young lady who served me. After giving her my name and order number, she told me that my cake had already been picked up!! They apologised and called the customer to bring the cake back! The birthday cake was at this point another mystery? The manager of the shop was in the back frantically making calls to find out where the birthday cake was. She came back and told me that the Birthday cake was missed on the cake making run and that she was very very sorry!! At this point I have 35 guests at home waiting for us to eat , drink and celebrate the birthday they had come to, but no cake to put candles on!! At this point I am completely mortified and really cannot believe my luck!! Sunday afternoon on a tight schedule and needing to find 2 birthday cakes!! The manager said they would box up loads of the single portion cakes on the counter and give them to us to soften the blow of their mistake! It wasn’t ideal but at least we could serve cake to our guests. The Victoria Sponge cake was delivered back to the shop by now so at least we could use that to blow candles. After 45 minutes in the shop and all the cakes boxed up ready for us to leave the manager reappeared and proceeded to tell me that the Pastel de Nata’s where on the house and that they would be refunding the Victoria Sponge and birthday cake that was not made, but the rest they where advised by the owner needed to be paid for!! This completely threw me!! Until now I had been calm as everyone can make mistakes!! But after been offered everything in the shop to help with there mistake the server even told us through the whole fiasco to take whatever we want from the shelves to be told to pay for it now made me furious!!! Although a fantastic walk in bakery with great products in stock!! The customer service from the management has left me with the worst taste in my mouth!! I feel completely let down and came home to a house full and no birthday cake for my nearest and dearest!! Utter shambles!!! As a local business owner I know we all make mistakes, but when we do, we do everything we can to make the problem better! It was all good and I would have carried on using them until they wanted me to pay for their F****P!! In the end absolutely terrible experience all round!! I hope the owner takes a good look at herself and sorts out her customer service!!!
I'm never disappointed coming here. Even if my favourite wild boar/apple sausage roll is sold out there is always something else to try.
Picked up a white bloomer - very fresh and tasty! Will have to try the cakes next!
This is a beautiful Artisan bakery that bakes the best French bread I have ever eaten in London. As good as a traditional French boulangerie. Baguettes and round loaves to die for. The pastries are a wee bit expensive but equally lovely. If you want an almond croissant you could get a fairly similar one in a supermarket. They have quite an extensive selection of breads and pastries as well as soups and snacks for lunch. I haven't tried anything at lunchtime but it looks scrummy. They do very nice coffee and are open on a Sunday morning. One of the many gems in Enfield's lovely Chase Side. Try it. You'll be hooked once you have.
Great selection of breads and also they have great cheese and if your an early bird then you can get some great baked sweet treats. The coffee is great. Sometimes a bit of a queue but it's always worth the wait. Also tried the harissa and apricot Sausage roll and it's delicious! Highly recommended.
I'm sure I reviewed Holtwhites a few years ago but maybe several new phones later my review has been lost. So, this is as authentic a French boulangerie as you can find anywhere this side of La Manche, wonderful baguettes and pastries. Not cheap, but the quality of the bread is superb. They offer tasty soups and snacks throughout the day up to 4pm and on Sundays too. Go for the baguettes and spoil yourself with butter and a filling of your choice. Their coffee is good and you must try the pastries. It's one of the joys of Chase Side in Enfield.
