The place looks amazing, fresh and very warming. The service was quick, polite and friendly. We got the Nacho Sharer and the Chicken Sharer photos attached Reasonably priced, only thing that let it down slightly was the chicken wings, they were deep fried but this made the chicken inside quite slimey if you get me but the rest of it was spot on. Glad We Came
The grounds and building are stunning. We came for a late breakfast. The food was delicious, plenty of it. The waitress who served us was smiley, friendly and informative. Others could take a leaf out of her book. She told us about the work which had been done to the building. We will definitely be back if and when we come back to Wakefield.
We booked a meal for 7.30 to celebrate our son's 45th birthday. Having been to the Holmfield several times before we were disappointed on this visit. The service was slow and some of our choices were unavailable. When our mains came salad was warm, suggesting the food had been. kept warm on a hotplate. My rump steak was very gristly My son spoke to the manager and we were not charged. We would have preferred enjoyable meals. During the meal we were told the kitchen had closed.
Went for a baby shower. Space allocated was brilliant. Food however, I felt was very poor for the prices and the service was not good. Wrong food served, some cold which when returned was just reheated in the micro. Many of us went home hungry as portions very small and no salad garnish on any plates. Kids food was much better than main plates. We shan't go back despite lovely location. Sorry to give such a negative review but .....
Lovely and cozy inside, beautiful location. Loads of staff but waited a while for somebody to come and take the order.. Starters overpriced for what you get but mains reasonably priced and absolutely gorgeous! Steak sandwich to die for!! Will definitely come back
Stayed with my wife as she was working in the area on the 24th Jan - warm welcome when checking in, the receptionist even offered to help carry our bags. The room was clean and fresh with plenty of space. We asked family to join us for a meal & the restaurant look lovely. The menu has a variety of options, we were told that it would be a while for the food to arrive as we ordered a tomahawk steak.. the food arrived but sadly it was not warm and my meal was cold, we told the waiter and he promptly removed the cold food and had it replaced - the steak was amazing and so was the service. Our waiter was so nice and helpful and assistant manager just calmly dealt with this issue and apologised, if you have not tried the venue it is definitely worth it , We have booked to stay again in a few weeks with family - the only reason it is not 5 stars was the cold food ...
Friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Staff present and very much. Happy to help. Clean and fresh decor plus spotlessly clean in general exceptional quality food, and it’s a first time in a long time where I’ve had a chargrilled burger that actually is a proper chargrilled steak burger.
We visited the newly refurbished Holmfield Arms for lunch. What a brilliant experience. The refurb is very impressive. The food was divine and the staff couldn't do enough for us. A big thank you to Paige, the young lady who took our order and served our food made us feel very welcome. The experience was second to none. Even our little dog was welcomed and was given a bite to eat. Well worth a visit. Give it a go.
Not really much to say. Yes it's coming on really nice and it looks like what it should do. My wife and I went in for my birthday lunch and was put in the middle of a boothed section on a little table where unfortunately we felt like a couple of goldfish in a bowl, so decided to move elsewhere. Unfortunately where we moved to wasn't the same service as where we were originally put. It'll probably be a good while now before we go back. Shame really...
This refers to the restaurant. Couldn’t fault the service the waitress but the Sunday roast was very disappointing. The beef was streaked with gristle and the colour varied between grey and pink.most unappetising. The manager was not very polite or helpful when we had pointed out the shortfalls. Doubt we will return.
