As good as it gets for a free park, lovely lake down the bottom of the Hill if you park at the cafe, not as scenic as Linacre up the road but you have to pay for parking for that so not really comparable. Lovely forrest areas and a great dog walk or place for the kids to burn off some energy.
Holmebrook Valley Country Park is a lovely place to go for a walk, the forests here are really beautiful, especially with all the autumnal colours. It's a great place to take your dog, there are lots of areas you can take them off the lead, including an enclosed area specifically for dogs to play around in. There is a playground next to the northern car park that is perfect for children to play while parents can watch from the nearby benches. You can find another playground about half way around one of the trails, additionally there is also an outdoor gym that can be found in the same area. Restrooms are next to the play park at the northern car park. Easy to find & accessible. There's lots of benches distributed throughout the park, with a couple of picnic benches. You can find some picnic benches next to the enclosed dog play area, and there are also some picnic benches by the northern car park. The walk itself is mostly flat, however there is a downhill/uphill segment at the beginning & end of the circuit. Besides that, there are no other notable hills. The trails are easily accessible for prams and mobility vehicles. Enjoyed visiting here with my dog, it's a really peaceful place with a lovely lake. Lots of other doggies to play with if that's something you're looking for. Just be aware that there may be dogs running around off the lead, but from my experience here they've all been well trained. Visited the park today to have a look at the cycling path as I plan to cycle here soon. Really lovely place with birds chirping, beautiful flowers. Stopped over at the playground, tried some of the exercise equipment there, then walked over to the lake. I think the lake area is more suited for cycling. I hear there is a mountain cycle trail, but didn’t go up there. As I cycle through the park I’ll share more updates. The only concern I do have is dogs not on leash. For anyone scared of dogs be prepared some dogs won’t be on leash, it’s a free park for them to roam with their owners around. Playground: Loved the exercise equipment at the playground. Also some more playground stuff for kids. Dog-friendliness: For anyone scared of dogs be prepared some dogs won’t be on leash, it’s a free park for them to roam with their owners around.
Took a bus load of service users. Couldn't access the carpark due to high vehicle. So walked to play area. Had our picnic near swings. All then moved to cafe and purchased drinks, not too expensive. Pleasant place with a big lake. Playground: Kids playarea Restrooms: Toilets available with radar key disabled Dog-friendliness: Dogs walking areas. Picnic area: Lots of benches
Great place to go walking, plenty of footpaths and wild flower meadows to explore. Children play area at the Newbold Road end, near the cafe which serves good food, cakes, scones, bacon or sausage sandwiches etc. Free parking in two car parks
Absolutely stunning place. It's enormous. We parked on the bottom level, and steered the kids to the path that avoided the playground so we could get a good walk done first. Went through the woods and around the lake and then up the path by the brick ball which led, unbeknownst to us, up to another playground. Couldn't avoid it, but luckily also has a cafe and toilets as this is a much bigger carpark. Plenty of green fields to walk and play. Unfortunately, didn't have time to explore all the other trails, but we will be back. Suitable for long or short strolls. Fine for wheelchairs and buggies from the bottom carpark . Not sure from the top as we went up a very steep hill to get there.
Fantastic park we have recently started to explore. There are two play areas for children, a beautiful lake to walk around or fish at, football fields and do many different trails to explore. Having two dogs it's great to see the amount of trash cans available to make been a responsible owner that much easier. There is a cafe I am yet to try but looking forward to doing so.
Free parking at this lovely park. There are play areas playground and fields and paths for walkers, cyclists and horse riders. There is even a petanque playing area. They ask that your dog be kept on lead at all times and to clean up after it. There are a few dog poo bins around. Enjoy a stroll around the lake and the company of the water fowl as you do so. The little stream is a great place for your dog to enjoy a drink. There are plenty of seats scattered about. The brick sphere is quite interesting. Makes you womder if the bricks where purposefully made or rendered round... Plenty of parking. WC available. Picnic tables near WC and playground. Dog water bowls near WC. Playground: Dog free zone with plenty of structures for kids to play on. Sports field next door Restrooms: Free to is and a disabled tiolet key needed Dog-friendliness: Dogs welcome on lead Picnic area: Picnic tables near WC and the playground
Great free place to walk around. Large area with good accessibility paths. Lake is about 20 minute circular walk and is nice to sit beside and watch the world go by. Playground: Big area for kids to play in , plenty to go on. Restrooms: There is toilets available and a small cafe with limited hours. Dog-friendliness: Very dog friendly place.
Nice walk with pond and lots of trees. Lots ot ducks swans squirrels etc.
