Whoever decided that lunchtime was a good time to have a worker sanding tables with an incredibly loud industrial sander in a bar/restaurant while food and drink were being served needs to give their head a wobble. I didn't fancy a sprinkling of sawdust seasoning with my drink and couldn't hear the person next to me to have a conversation, so left after a few minutes.
Horrible the staff are rood the manager was disrespectful too my autistic daughter taking her money and charged them more then they should then to tell them that can't boll because she missed her slot this was the 1st time my child experience life outside with just her friends it was horrific. she now will not even go to the shop alone the manager and her staff took my daughters money didn't tell her the time of the slot then refused to give a refund however they thought giving her an her friends 1 free game for a different week was acceptable I will never recommend anyone take there children autistic or not to this place and find an alternative to the game elsewhere but that's just my opinion if they did this to my children how many have they done it too and got away with it angry with hollywood boll in Sheffield is an understatement.......
Unfortunately, our experience at the Sheffield Hollywood Bowl was disappointing. It started well—the venue is nice, and we had a small group of 7, mostly kids, to celebrate my son’s 12th birthday. However, upon arrival, I had to ask staff to clear rubbish and empty drinks glasses left by the previous party from our lane. Once we settled in, I used the QR code at our lane to order food and drinks for the kids, totaling £65.00. The drinks arrived after about 15 minutes, but as we finished the first game, an hour after ordering, the food still hadn’t arrived. I asked a staff member about it, and she mentioned it should take 15 minutes. When I clarified that we had already been waiting for over an hour, she said sometimes the kitchen doesn’t receive the full order. I asked her to hurry the order as the kids were getting hungry. After another 15-20 minutes with no food, I found the same staff member, who seemed clueless, so I asked to speak to the manager. The manager arrived about 10 minutes later. I explained the situation and showed him proof of the order on my phone. He acknowledged a system failure had prevented the order from reaching the kitchen. I expressed my dissatisfaction and requested a reimbursement for the food. The manager, visibly annoyed, offered the kids free drinks coke. We finally received 3 meals 10-15 minutes later. I had to remind them that 4 meals were still missing, which arrived roughly 2 hours after we ordered, at the end of our second game. There was no compensation, leaving us with very hungry kids. If this system error is common, GET IT FIXED. While the venue is good, the management was poor. The staff are doing their best I am sure with what they have, but a change in leadership could make a significant difference. I should also mention, the venue was only half full, as this was mid-day, therefore these delays couldn’t have happened due to maximum capacity!
Very busy as you would expect for a Saturday afternoon. Our lane was not ready for the time we booked and when we did get on the previous occupants glasses and rubbish hadn't been cleared. Went to the bar yesterday was 2nd in the que, ordered food and drinks, and then sat and waited over 35 minutes then food came before the coffee after asking twice for it. The order came wrong. I said nicely my order is wrong, he said well that's what's on the receipt which I wasn't given I said yes, maybe, but it did not order them. He said, "Just keep them, I'll sort it. He then came back to me and basically told me that's what I ordered, that's what I was given. We going to a show and I didn't have time to argue about the food I asked for as we were going to be late because the service was so slow. The excuse was they didn't expect it to be so busy because of the show which I find bizarre after the gladiators recorded last year and it was just as busy I didn't mind waiting a little and I didn't mind that they wrote the wrong order but what I did mind was he told me what I ordered even though he wasn't there when I was served by the lady and he obviously thought I didn't know how to order my own food. Rude and obnoxious.
Ordered drinks at the bar. As we sat down someone started sanding tables with an electric sander. When we asked for a refund or if they could stop we were told no on both counts. Apparently sanding tables in the middle of a bar is perfectly normal. No idea why they couldn't either do it outside of normal hours or outside. I have no idea if this is legal but I'm sure there must be some rules in regards to dust when food and drink is being consumed. There was no sheeting to keep dust in the area being used. Also potential issue with decibel levels as the workman was wearing ear protection so clearly levels of noise are high. The more I write this the more ridiculous this sounds. Who signs off on sanding tables in a bar during opening hours?
