my family and i came for dinner, we came a little early so we played an old game of trivial persuit that was in the restaurant. we then ordered our food and the starters were absolutely amazing and so were the mains. the prices were reasonable for the large portions. the staff were so lovely and friendly and we were glad to see there was a garden, free parking and that it was dog friendly. if we ever come down here again we are definitely coming back.
Lovely friendly staff. Room a bit expensive for a window with massive crack in and poor shower however, the food was lovely in the pub below and big portions. Reasonable prices there. The building is a few hundred years old so walls not very well sound proofed but not too much of an issue. Pleasant night sleeps and attentive staff, providing more towels etc when asked. Breakfast lovely also. I recommend if you are visiting Longleat or surrounding area!
Such a Shame! I don't normally post negative reviews, but this deserves to be mentioned. Lovely pub with warm friendly staff, nice food in the evening. But when staying here I don't appreciate being charged £12.50 for a poorly cooked breakfast that costs £8.50 an hour later when the pub opens to the public. Undercooked snotty eggs and cheap tasteless sausages really let the place down.
Lovely welcoming and cozy pub, but the breakfast for residents was £4 more expensive than for pop in customers. That is immoral. No choice of eggs or bread type. The eggs were fried and snotty and the sausages were a very poor quality. Dinner the beef lasagne option was replaced with chicken and olive lasagne. No thanks! The room was shabby with wallpaper falling off and there was damp in the bathroom with the extractor fan broken. Unnecessary and cheap to fix. Loved the uneven floors! As a pub, we couldn't fault the atmosphere and the decorations.
Great. I recommend bedroom 4. Great bed and shower if you are staying overnight. Steak night on Thursday is always good. Lovely staff.
Rooms were lovely. Breakfast was different price before 10 which was bizarre. Staff was friendly and accommendating. Heating wouldn't turn off making our rooms uncomfortably hot. And I know it's a pub but music was quite loud till around 11.30. Would come back again as price was very good.

Had a great couple of days, food is very value for money and you aren't left hungry. Staff super friendly. Only downside our fan didn't work in the bathroom to vent the steam etc. Can't think of anything else I'd complain about. Would definitely visit again.
Nice pub in my local area, fantastic staff and reasonably priced food and drinks. The food isn't the best quality, i get the impression that they batch cook all of their meat and then apply it to anything in the menu that needs it, so you end up with food that tastes pretty similar i.e. the lasagane tasted like the meatballs. My parents stay in the hotel part frequently and are very complimentary and impressed with that part of the business.
Nice finally put in a out of the way area. Great atmosphereRooms: 5/5
