Nothing wrong with the hotel itself but the car park.nif you are going to stay in that hotel, MAKE SURE you only get into the car park with booked car park time with zero tolerance.nnI have been charged even I have paid for the car park because I was just dropping off and collecting the family before check in and after checkout. and the drop off area is actually in the car park. that is totally pissed off.
Rang in advance to double check if it was possible to pay for my room in cash - was assured this was completely fine. Arrive to check in with my hand full of cash only to be told that the whole company doesn’t accept cash on site anywhere. Receptionist was really apologetic and lovely - complaints team couldn’t have cared less that I was made overdrawn to pay for the room due to their misinformation.nBeing cashless is disgusting - I want the choice to pay with legal tender of my choosing
Stayed here on Sunday paid £87 for family room plus parking is £16. Feel the hotel is well over priced for what you get. Room wasn't upto normal holiday inn standard, stained carpets, loose wall fittings, only few tv channels only 2 pillows on the bed even tho most have 2 firm 2 soft very poor for the high price you pay. Breakfast was hectic aswel breakfast room is too small for size of the hotel and there's only 1 coffee machine so your stood in a que while people trying to get past getting there breakfast. So so poor definitely wouldn't stay again my least favourite ihg I've stayed at.
Great modern, comfortable low cost hotel. Parking £16 overnight but it is very convenient. Pleasant and warm staff. Good breakfast although the eggs were lukewarm....needs a proper system to keep the food warm please. Good beers at bar. My room 104 was v quiet...facing the beautiful Tudor House.n5 stars if you can crack the egg problem.
15-minute walk from the main train station, very well located and close to shops and town centre of you are visiting for business or sightseeing. The room was clean and spacious, and all the basics facilities were available. Lovely staff, friendly and helpful. They provided all I needed at reception or asked one of the cleaners. Breakfast is standard English and also continental variety, good and filling food. Did enjoy a good walk by the river on sunset and manage to visit the Cathedral, which is a beautiful landmark and holds plenty of historical facts for the curious spirit. There's a parking lot next to the hotel so very convenient if you're visiting by car. I shall visit again.
