Really unusual ice cream that was beautiful, staff were happy to explain the process and to allow us to test a flavour to ensure we liked it. Lovely place with great views!!

We have been coming here for years, my husband bought me here when we were camping nearby and he absolutely loves the honey ice cream. His all time favourite! When we visit we have to come here more or less every other day of our holiday and he will sometimes even buy 2 ice creams for himself per visit! I usually try the other flavours which have all been fab. I've even met the bear in the past too  big kid at heart!

They make the best ice cream I've ever had. Honey ice cream and it comes in several flavours. They usually sell a range of jams and marmalade and sweets and energy bars, but on my last visit October 2022 the shop was empty and the cafe closed. All that was for sale was ice cream. For some bizarre reason they have stopped taking cash, it's card only now regardless of how little you buy.

Geoff enjoyed his ice cream definitely recommend holgates ice cream shop and cafe highly recommend. Good portion sizes.

Delicious. Been going here for over 35yrs and it's still my favourite.  They only do two flavours per day now but you only need one. Honey. They do honey flavour every day and the other flavour rotates so its different most times you go. If you're in Tywyn then definitely give it a try.

Beautiful ice cream. Cafe closed at the moment. Probably could do with some seating outside and more bins. Ps get the bear out more! Kids love it!

Having been a frequent customer of their ice cream, we were extremely disappointed by our recent visit. We had 2 tubs and 2 standard cones. The first issue was the complete size discrepancy. The tubs were swirled badly and were very uneven. But then we looked at the cones. They were tiny and also swirled very badly. When we came to pay we were charged the same price for all 4! We went back in to complain and someone topped up one of the cones. Somewhat satisfied, we then stepped outside to enjoy what we know to be a great tasting ice cream. And we were again disappointed. The original one lacked any of the usual lovely honey flavour, and tasted like a plain ice cream. The tubs of salted caramel we were very exited to try just left an unpleasant salty taste in the mouth, and could have passed for plain ice cream. No nice caramel flavours at all. We then went back inside to pass this on to the manager, who apologised and said she would pass this on. We were offered no discount or any compensation, very disappointing. As I can see other people have also commented on the lack of flavours, I would say this is not a blip and a serious issue they need to resolve. We certainly will not be returning until the matter is resolved.

Delicious Honey flavour ice cream, utterly Mutterly ice cream on sale for dogs too

I've always loved this shop. They sell made on site honey ice-cream one plain and one flavour of the day. I had Apple pie when I last visited.
