I won't go into detail but I've had 4 separate instances in the past 8 years where I've personally dealt with the Hoddesdon police force.

Each, and every time, they suggested to me that it would be unrealistic to follow up and it would be best to "just leave it". When I put myself forward as an Eye witness to an assault, I was dismissed and told to leave.

The biggest example of this was when I was assaulted within eyeshot of the police station, and was asked to wait for 20 minutes while I was bleeding on their floor. 

I write this today, as a family friend of mine was attacked, and she received the exact same message I did the previous 4 times.

I don't know if it's a resourcing issue in Hoddesdon, but it really looks like they simply don't want to, or have the time to do  anything above going to the site of the crime and fobbing people off.
