Exceptional! Hands down one of the best record sections I've had the pleasure of flicking through. Had a real sense of care and attention to detail in every section. Individual, hand written notes on staff recommendations which showed such a passion and love for the music. The rest of the store was very well presented and had a vast variety of products. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and look forward to my next.
Very helpful. My child almost bought a blu-ray version and the sales person said, are you sure you want blu-Ray? He then got us the normal DVD. Phew! There might have been tears. Cheap books on offer - £2 for £6 albeit it’s an eclectic mix but worth a look. Loads of comic magazines and other paraphernalia. Great shop. Some clown of course decided to turn the ‘God is not great’ books back to front. The only title turned back to front on the shelves. Obviously a religious connotation for them being turned around but typical of Northern Ireland
I like the atmosphere of HMV given its the last DVD store in the country. Staff are helpful and informative. Only problem is that anime DVDs and Blu Rays are extortionately expensive, the blame lies on the distributor and studios and not the store. I miss the third floor they used to have open to customers, however they moved all of the products downstairs.
Always enjoy taking my daughter for a rummage around HMV. We met a lovely member of staff who spoke to my daughter about her purchased flocked funko pop...she left delighted. Lovely guy
Terrible shop. Went in to get headphones that costed £220. I asked staff there if it had leather padding and he said it did. Only 30 minutes later when unboxing it to find it didn't have leather padding. Went back into the store and they said they weren't able to refund or exchange my item. I tried to go there the second time to get to exchanged and told the manager the staff member must've unintentionally lied about it because the box was ambiguous hence why I asked. And then he started started saying how they have experts and that I'm accusing them of lying as if they intentionally did it.
Very dimly lit with out of touch merchandise. The prices for funkos and collectables are also extremely dear compared to other shops. All funko chases and items of value are always pocketed by staff before it even hits the shelves. One staff member in particular during covid decided to try and humiliate and my friend and I who were exempt from masks by asking us to leave the store. The guys who work upstairs with the cds and vinyls are extremely helpful and are the reason I'm giving it 2 stars, otherwise HMV seriously needs a reshuffling. They need to adjust their prices and add merchandise people actually want. It can marginalise itself with many niche items.
Barry was absolutely lovely and so helpful in finding me the lowest costing and best quality headphones i could’ve asked for! i love this place so much- cannot recommend more honestly :
Record shop in the centre of Belfast. Good selection of CDs, vinyl records, DVDs and other popular music and film related items. CDs and vinyl are located on the first floor.
Very good selection of items from anime to manga to classic vinyls
Fairly good though the other day I bought a couple items I asked for a bag as it was raining the only bag they had was a tote bag at the price of £5.99 or 15.99 unsure of exact price as I couldn't here the assistant properly
