Absolutely stunning food and excellent service here. Beautiful blends of flavours and high quality ingredients. Portions are generous and fairly priced for what you get the early evening deal is £21 for 2 courses, £25 for 3. Greag selection of drinks with lots beers and wines to try. Interior is nice and toilets are clean. Was a tad chilly on our visit recently so take a cardigan i fed this back so may be different for you. No parking but there is street parking nearby. The menu changes regularly which makes coming here very exciting! Highly recommend
A wonderful and authentic meal, every course was incredibly tasty and special in it’s own right. The sticky toffee pudding is delicious and was just as I remembered it. The £25 set menu is great and makes the restaurant accessible if you’re on a budget.
Had a lovely three course meal at Hinnies. Food was all fresh, delicious and locally sourced. Great knowledge from the staff when recommending wines and they helpfully catered to all of my gluten free needs as a coeliac. I'll be back!
Having just eaten there I can quite honestly say I'm underwhelmed and not just by the food. I had a £14 main and a £6 pudding and was charged the 2 course menu rate of £21! My partner had a £16 main and cheese board priced at £8, but they add a £2 supplement for the 2 course meal! When the bill arrived both mains were charged at £17 each? I took this up with the manager and his response was " It's a bit confusing isn't it?" No it's not, it's simple mathematics and it's wrong! Basically, I was charged £1 more for my meal and £1 less for my partner's meal than if we'd ordered the items off the menu individually! Either charge a 2 course at an advantageous price i.e. less than the price of 2 items individually or don't do it! Sorry, but I won't be returning here.
Sam and Molly were fabulous hosts Food was superb. Partridge and venison were both lovely, unfortunately forgot to take photos of those . Definitely worth visiting.
Cracking local restaurant. The staff were welcoming and knowledgeable about the menu. The interior was a nice design and menu had some lovely local twists and some nice choices that weren't the norm. I opted for the sirloin steak with peppercorn sauce followed by a lush hazelnut and caramel cheesecake. My mam enjoyed her rabbit Wellington and dark chocolate tart. Will definitely return, hopefully without the car to sample some cocktails. There's a carpark 2 minutes walk along the front next to Spanish City which is only £3 for the whole day.
Went for an impromptu Thursday lunch and so glad we did! It is a beautifully laid out restaurant with a warm welcome. The food was amazing, so fresh and tasty. It says comfort food, but this was comfort food done to showcase food from the area. Unfortunately, we are only staying a few days, otherwise, I think Hinnies would be a regular visit. Would highly recommend. Also, at lunch, there are offers for 2 or 3 courses. We left happy, and with our tastebuds singing!
Arrived at 1.30 . Service slow, starters were OK but waited ages for the main meals. When they arrived my meal was cold . Had to wait for a replacement. My friend's meal ,pigeon was inedible. Waitress said I could have a free pudding for my wait. Waited ages for the dessert menu and had to ask for someone to take our order then again ask why the wait was so long for our dessert. When they arrived mine was wrong. We then asked for the bill, my dessert was not free and they had added 2 extra drinks , which we did not order, onto our bill. My friend got her meal for free and a free coffee. We eventually left at 4 pm. Will not be going there again
Fantasies breakfast spot on the cost and one of the few places that let's us take Brian. Most places claim to allow dogs until you appear with an 8stone Rottweiler, but Hinnies always welcomes us with open arms. Recommended the Belta Breakfast .
Promotional deal for January ; 3 courses for £13. Very good value. Portions generous especially starter of North Sea fishcake and desserts of sticky toffee pudding and spiced apple and rhubarb crumble. Mains braised beef shin casserole very tasty as was pork belly with black pudding mash although couldn't taste much of the black pudding. Had a couple of cocktails for a tenner but found them disappointing although to be honest we are not really cocktail regulars . Every table taken on our visit at 1pm on the 30th.
