In rural India, where people use seasonal, local, organic food out of necessity and recycle as much as they can because they can’t afford to waste it. Right from the beginning, we have to follow this model to set up a business that can thrive without harming the environment.
Sustainability is something we’re really passionate about at the Hill-Murry takeaway and we’re always looking for new and innovative ways to improve our sustainability practices.
Some of our sustainability principles
Meat: we only use locally sourced free range meat.
Poultry: we only use British Poultry that are stockist of Red Tractor. Poultry which has been reared to a high welfare standard.
Fish: all of our fish is sustainable and our prawns are “Best Aquaculture Practice Accredited”.
Dairy: we only use organic locally sourced milk and cream. All of our eggs are free range and locally sourced.
We use seasonal, locally sourced fruit and vegetable as much as possible.
The vast majority of our waste is recycled including larboard, plastic, tins and as much food waste as possible.
