Hilary is exceptionally talented at what she does and a true professional. I had a dress that I loved but needed lots of alterations to fit properly it looks better than I could have imagined. Her attention to detail and experience is outstanding I would recommend her to anyone. Thank you Hilary

Hilary made me a jacket to match a dress i had purchased for my daughter's wedding. She worked so hard to get it perfect for me and I would highly recommend her.

From the moment I spoke with Hilary on the telephone, I knew she was a true professional. Hilary's attention to detail was exemplary. When I met her she was so warm and friendly and explained everything in detail it really made the whole experience a pleasure. Nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend her to anyone who wants to experience a true crafts woman at work. Tricia

I always wanted a wedding dress based on a historical original sack dress with a Watteau pleated train. I was worried about finding a skilled dressmaker who could produce such a dress to a budget. I went to several different dress makers but knew as soon as I saw some of Hilary's previous work that she was the one for me! She has made some wonderful corsets and some beautiful dresses. Her portfolio is full of fabulous and very diverse dresses and outfits. She discussed from the word go different ideas and designs, we looked at some Vivienne Westwood designs, as well as designs from the period. The pencil drawn design she came up with was so beautiful and exactly what I had wanted. I wanted a proper corset and boy is that what I got, superb shaping and boning. She had some amazingly beautiful materials at her disposal and it was fantastic to have so much choice! I went for a gorgeous raw silk in peacock blue with an iridescence created by the deep red woven through the peacock blue. I enjoyed every dress fitting and seeing the dress and coat with it's train taking shape each time was wonderful! Hilary completely put me at ease during the fittings and one of the saddest things about the wedding is knowing that there would be no more visits to Hilary for fittings! The dress was truly a thing of beauty. The time, energy and effort that Hilary puts into her work is awe inspiring. There is love in every stitch. The beautiful beadwork and embroidery was glorious. To be able to have a bespoke design right down to the last detail really makes your wedding dress unique and personal. Hilary was on hand on the big day and helped put me in my dress. It was an absolute pleasure working with Hilary on my wonderful dress and I was so proud to introduce her as my dressmaker on our wedding day. The dress has been very much a talking point and everyone who has seen it or our wedding photos all commented on my dress and how spectacular it is. It fits me so perfectly. If you want a unique professional beautiful dress then Hilary is definitely the right person for the job. As corny as it might sound she made my dreams come true!

I found Hilary Jane Designs via Google and I could not have found a better dressmaker had I searched for years! I originally went to Hilary with two evening skirts to be altered and while one, with the correct shoes, was deemed to be the right length and fit, the other one was ready for me within a couple of days. I then asked Hilary if she could assist me with a prom dress that my granddaughter had bought from the internet. The dress was nothing special and so Hilary took it upon herself to suggest what she could do. The result was absolutely fabulous and my granddaughter learned a lot from Hilary about fitting clothes and sizing. The workmanship on the dress was second to none with delicate swarovski crystals being sewn into it on the bodice and a belt fitted with a diamond design also of swarovski crystals. Hilary also had to adjust the dress in various places and I (and my granddaughter and daughter) were delighted with the finished product. I would highly recommend Hilary if you have any special evening dresses that need that small or large alteration - she is able to work wonders.
