Dog walkers paradise! Highgate is a great place to walk the dog but also for families in general. Very clean and well maintained good clear marked out footpaths if you're not used to the area. The car parks do tend to get busy during the afternoons and especially in the summer months. There is usually an ice cream van on the main car park when the weather is nice there are also public toilets located on the next car park up from the main car park.
Very popular place for dog walkers in particular. In the spring the birdsong is varied and excellent. Lots of rare insects appear in the warm weather. There is an informative website run by the Staffordshire Wildlife Trust. Well worth a read. The wardens keep the place pretty tidy, especially considering the number of visitors.
This place is great for a daily walk lots of varied pathways to explore especially on the North side of the common. The terrain is mainly flat and easily accessible with a mix of forestry and open spaces. Pathways can get muddy as most are unsurfaced so wear suitable shoes.
Lovely place to walk and explore. Lots of different car parks and many routes. It’s mainly flat so good for everyone. It has many benches and seats. Some of the trees are the very best for climbing for the kids.
Beautiful place for a long dog-walk. It is also safe to leave them off the leash since it is quite wide. Parking is a plus, since you can just arrive and jump out of you car.
Our first visit, as lockdown eases looking for a safe place to walk in the spring sunshine, lots of open space to walk and picnic benches and seats to rest and enjoy the views and bird song. Plenty of parking in different places around the common.

Wonderful wildlife, The best thing about Highgate Common is you never know what you will see, and such a vast area, both me and my wife just love taking the camera's around the Common.
Such an amazing place. We love to go riding our bikes across the ground. So beautiful on a warm sunny day and the ice cream truck on the bottom car park is a huge bonus they are also multiple car parks which means parking is easy and free
Too many dogs off lead and you have to be careful where you put your feet in case you step in something left behind by them and their owners.Visited onWeekend
