Had a quacking time here. Beautiful place to take a calm stroll and take a little time from the chaos of life. We were able to get on the rowing boat and had so much fun. The cafe is clean and has a tasty range of foods and drinks. There's so much to do here, fab day out with family.
Always a nice place to go for a walk. A lap of the lake isn't too long, so I like to vary the number of laps I do, depending on how much walking I want to do. Lots of dog owners use Highfields for their walks, although some are more considerate than others!
I had lovely walk around a lake. Nice to see boats and kayaks.Need try one day!when less windy. Good stop at coffee and toilet. Must stop is art exhibition. And look what is in theatre. Playground: Plenty of spaces for kids. Restrooms: Free toilets Dog-friendliness: Dog friendly.
Great park to just hangout. Stroll around here, enjoy the view & fresh breeze. We went during semester break hence less people around. Was great. History. The site, originally part of the Highfields Estate, belonged to Joseph Lowe who along with his son Alfred, developed the site in the late 18th century and were responsible for much of the landscaping that is visible today. In 1789 Joseph Lowe constructed 'Highfield House' which was to be used as his residence.
Excellent park to visit with a 7 year old and a 90 year old. The playground is quite large and the walk round the lake interesting even for a youngster. There are also boats to hire on the lake and a mini golf and football golf, both look excellent. The only drawback are the toilets. The outside ones are awful and rarely cleaned. The inside ones are only a little better. The cafe is functional but lacks character. Better to buy an ice cream from the van outside. Playground: Excellent variety Restrooms: Awful and very smelly. Not clean at all. Dog-friendliness: A nice walk round the lake and lawns to get your dog running after a ball. Picnic area: Plenty of benches and lawned areas for a picnic. No designated covered picnic area
Superb place to relax, boat ride was amazing. Super cool environment. Picnic area: Nice location for a picnic .
Used to visit here on a regular basis, however this was my first visit for over 6 months. Thoroughly enjoyed walking round the lake on a sunny evening and was impressed how tidy and well kept the park was. Rowing boats available for rent, as well as mini golf and football golf. Good for families, with large grass areas for picnics and a regular ice cream van parked up. There is also a small coffee shop in the Lakeside art centre.

This place is absolutely gorgeous I love it has university part of the park it has park for kids it has picnic area too there alot to see hear they have 2 cafes one outside one inside and inside cafe is attached a art exhibition very nice they do activities for kids here too Playground: Massive kids adore it the park is always hot kids there Restrooms: Clean and in great hygiene Dog-friendliness: This park is very dog friendly but u got keep dog out of parks Picnic area: Big enough to have a picnic anywhere in this park it's massive
Lovely place to visit either for a quiet walk around the lake,or something more adventurous like crazy golf,or boating on the lake itself. You can have a lovely coffee and cake in the cafe or picnic on the grass. As well as looking at the exhibitions on show in the lakeside building.
