Went to this salon for the first time as I wanted to colour my hair and saw good reviews. I wasn't disappointed, Lorraine understood exactly what I wanted and matched a colour perfectly for me. I was a bit nervous before as never dyed hair before but couldn't be happier with results, salon is relaxed and service was the best. Thanks so much, will return and recommend
Was looking for a new hair salon to go to and after reading all the good reviews online, I decided to pop along. The good reviews were correct! The staff were all really friendly and I really enjoyed my visit to this lovely hair salon. Had a beautiful cut, full head of highlights and a new style with Jenny. Would really recommend going and I will definitely be going back :!
First time going here today and for someone who does not like getting their hair cut, i was made to feel 100% comfortable the entire time. Jennie listened to my past experiences which have made me reluctant to cut my hair and put me at ease right away and spoke through the entire cut with what she was doing and why. She even helped me decide how much to have off because my hair is really curly it can be hard to judge. But thanks to her i have been able to leave with a really pleasant experience and the perfect length. Would reccommend :. Thanks Alot!
I had my first appointment today with the lovely Danielle and was made to feel very welcome. Danielle did a great job on my hair and I am very happy with the finish. I will definitely return in the new year
Lorraine is a fabulous hairdresser, she always does a brillant job and always listens to what you want and will always give great advice. The salon is gorgeous and so classy, it gives you a really welcome feeling and makes you feel very comfortable. Definitely recommend Lorraine!!
Great friendly salon. Thank you Jenny and Abbi. I recently had some colour done by Jenny and she listened to what I wanted and achieved a beautiful natural look for me. Have previously felt that other salons try and push me to get more expensive unnecessary treatments or try and push expensive aftercare products, neither of these things happen at High Street Hair. Highly recommend these girls.
I booked a wash and cut over the phone with Lorraine, the salon owner, who confirmed the price. It was my first visit having recently moved into the area looking for a new salon. I do however normally have a wash and cut / wet cut, which I've had in various other salons. After the cut I was asked if I wanted a blow dry and whether I wanted it wavy. I said just natural, no straighteners. This is in line with what other hairdressers have asked me/offered. I was surprised when I came to pay that I was charged £9 more. When I queried this I was told this was because I had had a cut and blow dry. I said I didn't want to walk out of the salon with wet hair, to which I was told 'oh that's a blast dry'. Firstly I am not a hairdresser so how I should know the terminology. Secondly, and most crucially, why would you offer something to a client which they had not even originally booked for without telling them that you are charging more for it? To top it off, whilst I was asking these questions I was holding my credit card and kept getting nudged to pay. Despite the fact it was clear why I hadn't yet proceeded. Rather than any understanding of what had happened I was met with a defense/excuse, despite not trying to be confrontational. So I was disappointed that despite being happy with the cut I was left with a bitter taste. It comes across as a sneaky attempt to overcharge, which I don't understand from a business perspective where client loyalty is a factor. Needless to say I won't be returning.
Rang this place to book an appointment for a trim I'm a man with long hair and I was told no we don't cut men's hair there's a barbers down the road. Is it just me or in this sexist? I like to think in this day and age a hairdresser would welcome anybody with long hair not direct them to the nearest pair of clippers because they're a man! Had a great hair cut and colour with Lorraine last week - both Lorraine and flo are always welcoming, I can honestly say went home feeling fabulous and looking great.
Iris always enjoys her experience at High Street Hair. The staff are so pleasant and she is always more than satisfied with her hair style.
