So, meet up with Steve, nice lad, friendly service. Book before you turn up is my recommendation. Cars are well-maintained. New MOT and advisory were completed with two premium back tyres. The car I purchased has aircon issues that are not covered, but it's not an issue. They sorted out getting the wheels refurbished at mt request, not free, I just wanted the car to look right, and it does. So this car was not a Matt special. But noticed the new plates. Recommend this place, give them a call first.
I am of the opinion, the YouTube channel is merely a facade for the dealership.nnSpoke to Steve via a call regarding the car's condition no mention of damage, I drove 70 miles with a friend - the car looked great on pics however with hindsight, I feel they intentionally did not upload any close up pictures of the rear bumper or mention it, which I think is poor from them. I understand it's a used car, and it'll have marks etc etc but be transparent on significant damage before the customer decides to visit.nn1st impressions of the dealership, I was quite dismayed. The place is dilapidated internally and externally.nMy friend who isnt aware of who High Peak are or their channel, saw the merchandise clothing corner and had a laugh saying why would anyone buy clothing promoting such a run down small dealership - they should prioritise the dealership itself before chasing online views and pushing clothing items; 1st impressions are everything.nnViewed the car and within seconds, my friend points out rear bumper - clearly been in an impact, which would be fine if it had been shown on pictures/mentioned, however neither the crack, or the huge gap between the bumper and the car's body was shown/ mentioned see pics attached you can see right through to the floor.nnI thought it's probably something they'll get sorted and haven't gotaroundd to doing yet and hence not mentioning it. Steve states the vehicle is prepped cosmetically ready to go with just an MOT left to do! - well that's annoying considering no mention of the bumper. If it was minor damage, I'd understand however it wasn't.nnSteve states the car will come with a 12 month advisory free MOT and a fresh service. We went back and checked over the rest of the car before heading home.nnRang the next day to discuss, Steve tells me the car will be sold as a trade sale, no warranty given due to age and mileage but gives me the spiel of how it'll be prepped to a very high standard! - There was no mention on the advert that the car was being sold as a 'trade sale' - why would you miss something so crucial from the advert for a car being sold for £7,495?nnI then enquired if there was any movement on the asking price so I can get the bumper fixed, was a firm no.nnSteve agreed to get the gearbox serviced on top of the 12 months advisory free MOT and fresh service, which they were initially offering with the car.nnI am then told after, the gearbox has been serviced previously so not needed- also that the vehicle will no longer be serviced as it is not due, despite him telling me previously that the vehicle would get a service. Out of principle, if they say the car will get a service, they should do it.nnI then requested via email since that's approximately £240 'saved' because a gearbox service was agreed but no longer needed, if that money could be 'allocated' to fixing the rear bumper, to which I am told no by Steve because the car still needs to get through an advisory free MOT and any work that maybe required- very bizarre because that still would have been the case regardless as it was agreed at the beginning that the gearbox would be serviced aswell. Poor excuse for refusing.nnI emailed Matt rather than the High Peak sales inbox, optimistic I could raise the issue of the back bumper with Matt directly, and come to some fair agreement. Within a few minutes, Matt responds, asking for my bank details to refund the deposit - that's it. It's pretty abrupt and rude, I'd say.nnIn the youtube video, he's claiming to have got a fresh service done and gearbox serviced for £252 - all lies, the gearbox invoice is from 2023 which they sent me & said it wont be done again. absolute conman/fraudnnTo conclude, do your own checks and due diligence. The channel gives you a selected insight into the business with Matt highlighting how he's different to most typical car dealers but from my experience, the reality as a customer is very different to the image that's put out there. Do not be fooled.
I bought a Mercedes B class from here in January. I never leave reviews for a car dealer until 3 months from the purchase date because I think thats how long it takes to assess whether the car is okay. Ill never understand why people leave one on the day they purchase a carnnThe dealer itself has a small showroom with around 40-50 cars in stock. The dealer also has a popular youtube channel where he shows the process of buying and then selling used cars. The channel is how I found the dealer so it seemed worth having a look when it came time to replace my trusty meriva. The dealer offered me 500 for my trade in but said I should try 'we buy any car' because they would probably offer me more which they did so I sold it to them.nnI was left alone to look at the car I was interested in and it came complete with a very good service history that included a recent cambelt change and a fresh 'clean' MOT. The process of purchasing the car was quick and easy and I was kept up to date with what was going on along the way.nn3 months and 2000 miles later the car is going well and I have had no need to return with any issues.nnThe only two thing I wasn't happy with was - the rear number plate has rusty screws so it spoilt the look of the car, and now that the warm weather is here ive noticed the AC needs a re gas. I didn't notice either of these issues at the time of purchase and the car is 10 years old so i think thats fair enough.nnAll in all im quite happy with the car and its not revealed any bodged touch-ins after quite a few washes which is excellent. I would recommend the dealer and also to check out the youtube channel highpeak autos where you might even see the car you're interested in. Thanks, Marc
Had a great experience selling my car to High Peak. Matt was fantastic, professional, friendly, and made the process incredibly easy. The whole transaction was smooth, and I’d definitely recommend them. My car had a full BMW service history, and it’s clear that HPA are selective in buying high-quality stock. Fair price too.
Easy transaction upon purchase. 3 months later and car is running fine.nWe test drove the car and never noticed any problems. After picking up the car a few days later I collected it and drove it home. In heavy rain I must add. After getting it home I noticed a chip on the windscreen? Did it happen on my way home? We had builders in across the road. Had they caused it with the cement mixer?nWhen I examined its documents on line it showed the chip had been there before it's last MOT.nFor some reason neither myself or my wife had noticed it when we checked it out? Garage told me it was not an Mot failure issue. I should claim on insurance.nWell thanks.nSuggest you read all information on line before making purchase....nPart exchange price was not great..
