Hidden little gem that we just came across. Beautiful views with a lovely meal. Was really impressed with the food and the menu plus the couple that own it couldn't of Been more attentive and polite. 100% will be coming again
Very nice place and lovely staff, I asked for a cookie and she kindly provided me with the almond and cherry bake scone just what I needed to cycle my way back to Hawkshead after wynrose and hardknott pass, I would highly recommend the place to all.
We called in here today for some breakfast. Although they do other food and cakes and drinks. It's a lovely dog friendly place to eat some high quality local food the black pudding was amazing. It's lovely and bright inside and had recently undergone refurbishment. We arrived early so we're able to sit near the log burner. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. We will definitely be coming back next time we are in the area.
Well what a lovely little cafe on a bank holiday drive! Dogs welcome which is important for us. We both had a chicken and bacon club with a side salad which was a big portion. 2 welcoming ladies that could not do enough for us. We had some lovely chocolate brownies too which were baked to pefection. Well worth a stop at to refuel. Wish this establishment the best of luck for the future!
Entirely new business and owners. We stopped for coffee and hot chocolate . It was early in the morning., A lot before the opening hours. Still, the owner opened for us the kitchen, and helped us with the hot drinks. Fresh bakeries and cakes every morning. Very beautiful building, all the interior has been redecorated lately. Very helpful and kind owners.
High cross inn is under new management! Four of us stayed in the family rooms and the accommodation was lovely, views are spectacular. Breakfast was delicious! Also ate a Sunday lunch which was the best I've had. Highly recommend this B&B! Will definitely stay again next time we're in the area.
Came here with my family whilst on holiday, we all had the sunday roast beef lunch which came as large or small absolutely delicious. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Beautiful views outside and is dog friendly. Will be going again before we leave!
We stopped off after being told by three pubs in the vicinity that they were closed for food and found a wonderful welcome. Our very large dog was made to feel right at home and the locally sourced food was outstanding. Definitely stop in if you are in this part of the Lake District.
We stayed here for two nights airbnb. Nice big room with en-suite bathroom. Shared kitchen close by where breakfast things are left so you can eat at a time to suit you - fruit, toast, hot cross buns, eggs, cereal and yoghurt etc. The cafe downstairs serves a cooked breakfast from 10am. The couple who own the Inn are very friendly and helpful. Home baked cakes and scones, nice lunch dishes and a great afternoon tea. Fresh coffee and even beers available. We would stay again - it's in a great location with good walks and local pubs for ale and great meals. Popular with cyclists, families and dog friendly.
