Received excellent service from Madeleine B today, who measured my daughters feet and helped me browse through the sale rack and regular range. Left with everything I needed and will visit again when her feet are bigger.
Clarks is a very well established, long standing shop that everyone knows. The shop itself is very well lit, spacious, clean and tidy. It was also incredibly hot in there! The staff were lovely, friendly, helpful and made us feel very welcome and comfortable. I went to help a blind lady choose some shoes, she had a cane so was easily identifiable as blind. The assistant was very considerate in dealing with us. Initially she spoke to me and addressed all her questions to myself even though we had explained why we were there and who we were buying for, but that's something that most people tend to do initially, especially if they are not experienced with dealing with people of different abilities. After I told her to just ask her directly and kind of walked away a little bit so I wasn't easily available to talk to ‍ the assistant began engaging with her directly and was actually very good. She understood that she needed to adapt how she would normally interact with someone and although she seemed a little bit nervous to begin with she did a great job. She made sure to hand only one shoe at a time, to put it into my clients hand rather than just passing it for her to take. She explained everything clearly and then took the shoe and made it clear that she was talking about a different one as she passed the next one as not to confuse the customer. She definitely became more confident and comfortable quickly which gave us a good customer experience. My only personal gripe with this shop is that the shoes are so expensive and I really don't believe they are worth it when buying for kids. The week previous to this visit we had been and bought the kids school shoes. £96 for two pairs and the 4 year old girls shoes were wrecked and unwearable within 2 weeks!! I took a photo of them after just 2 days of wearing them to school. That's 12 hours wear and they look like they are months old. I know kids are kids and you expect them to scuff their shoes but I think that if you are paying close to £50 then they should last. If they can't be made to last then make them a more reasonable price? Yes they were also sprayed with the leather shoe protector spray that Clarks sell before they were worn and yet they were still ruined in no time.
Excellent service. No pressure, Maddie couldn't do enough for us. Great shoes for the little one and smashing boots for me. Not as expensive as you'd expect.
Nice store in centre of Chesterfield. Children's department down stairs, no lift and you have to leave pushchair upstairs. Took grandson for his first pair of shoes. Assistant very attentive and friendly, measured feet and bought out a reasonable selection in 3.5g which was his size. Store very clean and tidy, no one else in Children's department so the little one could roam about trying the shoes. Would definitely recommend.
I Purchased a pair of sandals back in August 2022 and they are the most comfortable sandals Ive ever had. The staff and management team are first class just in case thier bosses are reading this but don't take my word for it all, why not pop in and get some new shoes yourself.
I would never buy anything for my child's feet other than Clarks shoes. The service is excellent and you know you are giving your child the best start in life. Jordan was excellent today. Obviously I was concerned about taking my baby into town due to Corona but I was able to make an appointment and we were the only ones in the children dept. Staff had PPE on while dealing directly with my baby and I and a special baby sized screen to put round us while her feet were measured as obviously you can't be 2m apart then. Over all a brilliant and safe experience while still remaining as friendly as I come to expect from Clarks. Good job guys.
Had possibly the most through and careful fitting experience i have ever witnessed with our kids on Sunday with Nicky. Both children are happy & shoes fit perfectly.
Have had a couple of issues with the quality but always return as feel the fitting service is good. Have never understood why the kids section is downstairs when so may parents have pushchairs. Good value if you don't have fussy kids and can find something in the sale but full price is quite expensive.
Absolutely rude woman in the store. Refused to get my grand daughter a size bigger, kept saying it says 4.5 she needs that and wouldn’t listen, the store manager stood there like a lemon and didn’t offer any help. We had to walk out she was just intolerable.
My partner needed a new pair of work shoes, something comfortable but hard wearing. The assistant was lovely and measured his feet and discovered a foot size difference of a size and a half, something that my partner never new about himself. After picking the shoes he liked the assistant encouraged him to have a walk round to make sure they were a good fit. We purchased the Polish with the hope that it will get used. Excellent place to buy shoes, the staff are clearly experienced and we'll be back for another pair soon no doubt.
