Would normally take my sister to the Metrocentre station to get her train back to Carlisle but took her to Hexham today as we were nearer. This is the last time I will use this station. I couldn't pay for my parking as no payment machine available for use. There are signs saying to pay via an app but despite several attempts - and contacting the online chat - I couldn't get the payment to go through. Then once inside we discovered that the toilets were locked up - even the disabled toilet. There were no staff available to ask for help with either issue. Not the kind of service I would expect.
Went for a walk past past the old part of the railway that once went across the river some parts still remain there plus the old signalbox even though it is covered in graffiti
I required 3 days parking ....ticket office closed until end of month and lengthy calls to get absolutely no where ..no help at all so my car had to be collected and then returned to the station for the last train which happened to be cancelled..absolutely hopeless!
Good cheap parking not too busy on a Sat
