That all children shall feel happy, safe, needed and valued so that they can reach their full potential, developing skills, attitudes practical abilities and knowledge plus the will to use them. By setting high standards and expectations for them, the children will work to the best of their ability, whilst increasing their understanding and learning.
To encourage lively, enquiring minds and foster enthusiasm so that children are willing and able to search for answers to their problems themselves. Wherever possible they should be able to test their ideas from relevant and meaningful first-hand experiences.
Children shall be given positive encouragement and constructive support to develop the motivation to persevere, to accept helpful criticism and to act upon it. The School shall provide an atmosphere that celebrates every child's’ success at whatever level.
All children shall be accepted as individuals. Their talents and experiences shall be valued, worked upon and extended, enabling each child to develop to their fullest potential. Careful planning and assessment shall support this aim.
Whilst upholding all that is best of traditional standards we shall keep an open mind on fresh approaches to learning and integrate these wherever appropriate.

We will enable children to experience working cooperatively in pairs, small groups or class situations, whilst also fostering the pursuit of excellence in individual attainment.
The School shall be a safe, stimulating and pleasant environment, providing a calm and ordered setting to assist the children's’ development.
The whole staff shall share a clear sense of direction, working together and learning from each other. They shall use their individual expertise for the good of the School and contribute to the shaping of the School philosophy. New ideas shall be discussed and evaluated carefully, as shall strategies for dealing with problems. All staff shall help one another and bring a sense of commitment and enthusiasm into the School to generate interest, motivation and keenness in the children.
