Waiting rooms and toilets are kept tidy and there's a waiting room on either side. There's also some vending machines around, however the ticket scanners hold up queues
Has a waiting room on each side, toilets cleanliness is hit and miss but generally good and is fairly spacious for a small-medium sized station.
Truly unhelpful and I felt inconsiderate, the morning of, I had activated my ticket bought from the trainline and my e-ticket was I thought on my wallet app. When I arrived in the station, the ticket hadn’t saved and the internet although 4G, I was informed by staff I may have trouble as they don’t have Wi-Fi ? Sure enough, it wasn’t enough to load the tickets or emails I had from the ticket provider.nnThree people, two women and a man behind the counter. Were all muffled in speech and talked over each other. Serving just me. One in particular, who I perceived as stern. Slouching over the back of the seat of her colleagues’ chair had an unpleasant manner. As someone with a hearing difficulty. I found this hard to process. I eventually showed the staff members my receipt email, when it loaded from trainline email, but they insisted I needed to download the app for the trainline, given my husband had ordered the tickets, I wouldn’t have had this log-in, which I told them twice. With two staff talking at the same time, trying to direct me in the links of the email, I found this difficult. “Go back up, go back up, go down, click here” etc. All of these directing me to download the app from the trainline. My departure time was fast approaching and I still needed to cross the over track bridge to my platform with my luggage. The situation seemed to becoming more heightened, when I expressed I didn’t feel they were trying to help. When I needed to say again, I couldn’t log on to the trainline app when asked AGAIN. Eventually the staff member in the wings stated I needed to buy another ticket, and the colleague sat facing me saying they were indeed trying to help.nnWhat would have been helpful would be for one person to talk at a time, for the train station to have some internet connection for patrons and for the booths staff reside in, to be modified to support engagement with users of this service.nnI’m told how eco I am for using the train service when booking, but the infrastructure and staff supporting us with this service do not have the patience or solution based approach. Especially given proof of purchase was visible.nnI just keep thinking, I’m in my 30’s, so how hard it must be for the older members of your society, if this is the experience I have had.
Lovely to walk round , bit shopping . Something to eat and drink to finish the day .
A nice station with plenty of good rail links to major destinations. The toilets are clean and modern. The station also contains a cafe and other essentials including a waiting room. It was a bit dirty on the platforms however, could've been cleaned to the standards that the toilets were done to!
