My experience of the hospital has always been positive and all staff welcoming and courteous.nHowever, my recent experience left me feeling very disappointed. My journey to the hospital takes me just over an hour and I arrived 15 minutes before my appointment time as directed. I booked in at the main desk and then proceeded to the Eign suite for my eye examination. Just as I was about to walk through the doors I received a call from a lady called Laura informing me that my appointment had been cancelled. After I explained that I had already arrived at the hospital I was informed that ‘a clinician’ would speak to me. Again I registered my arrival to the receptionist who was aghast at the call I had received. It was the nurses who sorted the problem and after a while I did see a doctor who explained that they were ‘overwhelmed’ with appointments. This pressure that the department was under was then reflected in my consultation. A new regime and paper work was  given to me for the administration of eye drops with cursory explanation. On reflection I now feel happier with the new routine I have but will also consult my optician regarding my eye health in the near future.

My experience at Hereford County Hospital A&E was very positive. The place was very packed. The staff work so hard. I was sent to another dept and also had ultrasound and CT. It took a while for the results and blood test results which is what I expected. The doctors, nurses and all staff were wonderful. I am very thankful.

 Stunning Art! nLet’s just say I’m not a fan of the hospital generally previous v poor experiences. However, the new artwork at the back of the main hospital, at the Macmillan Renton chemotherapy is spectacular and worth a visit don’t drive round the back, walk through the middle!nThank you to whoever commissioned it and to the artist! It brings joy

I went in on 6th December 2025, to have an operation, they was amazing! I had an amazing surgeon, I was extremely nervous but they tended to me and made me feel so relaxed. The aftercare in the recovery room was brilliant! They was so caring and made sure I had everything I needed, in the ward I was checked on every so often and the staff was amazing!

Great service at A&E and minor injuries. Really lovely and friendly staff who helped me with where to go. I went in after I slipped on ice and injured my arm, the staff at the A&E desk immidiately referred me over to minor injuries and showed me where to go. I only waited about 10 minutes before being seen, the doctors and nurses were great at keeping me calm. They sent me straight for an xray which I also only waited about 10 minutes for. Altogether I was only there about 90 minutes. Fantastically fast, really impressed and everyone was friendly and helpful!
