This Hospital is brilliant. I have travelled all the way from Coventry! To visit for an MRI I came during an emergency visit. The after care has been absolutely brilliant. Also the care while I have been here! Very professional NHS Staff I must say again the patient care is excellent! A massive thank you to this hospital!
I would like to say Big Thank you for Children’s Ward, kids can enjoy the toys , playing before they have surgery. Food is Amazing fresh and nice. Everywhere is nice and clean.nTeam so friendly.nVery Big Thank you for Doctors who make surgery for my daughter and fix the eye.nThank you for All nice and good Team
A&E Patients treated like cattle, poor attitude of staff in particular nurses who in front of patients and within ear shot moaned about the hospital, other staff members and even had the audacity to make fun of patients. This is wholly unprofessional and suggest if they hate their job that much they need to perhaps consider another career rather than treating ill people with such contempt
Our granddaughter broke her arm & needed surgery, the entire visit was conducted with professionalism, care, kindness, & humour. Thank you all for everything you did to address her situation. I know she will not be scared of any follow up visits. Thank you all.
I don’t like being negative but I have to be honest. I suffered major injuries to my left leg and knee that I had to get diagnosed privately due to an inept ‘diagnosis’ I was given by a Mr Refaiy from within the hospital. He claimed I’d just hurt some ‘soft tissue’ whereas in reality, I’d fractured my Tibial Plateau and a Femoral condyle, tore my LCL, tore my femoral attachment of my MCL and ruptured my ACL. I had to take my diagnosis and MRI back to Hereford to be told by Mr Refaiy that he was an arm specialist, not knee and his words that followed were ‘welcome to the NHS’. I was told I’d have knee surgery within 3-4 months from a Mr Sweed, but instead I had to wait 11 months to have knee surgery performed by a Mr Matthews who chose not to meet me at all before surgery, and who also admitted to me that he had not even seen my MRIs himself. Unsurprisingly, although I had an ACL reconstruction and did the rehab relentlessly, I can still not bend my knee better than before surgery. The obstruction in my knee caused by my injuries was not dealt with, all 4 physios I’ve seen cannot help unless they get told what the issue is, and I’ve spent the last 9 months trying to get answers. I did not get to see the surgeon again until 5 months after surgery and he eventually claimed my issues were caused by the Bakers cyst that formed in my knee after my injuries. He did not explain why this wasn’t resolved during surgery as I’m well aware it can be. Instead he sent me referred me for an MRI and 2 ultrasounds to confirm the cyst was still there and told me he would look into resolving this. Unfortunately, during my last appointment with Mr Matthews, he backtracked on what he’d said the last 6 months, claiming he had no idea why I can’t bend my knee fully and get immense pain when I try. He told me he was unwilling to help me and to live my life never bending my knee fully ever again. I was, and still am, incredibly angry by this terrible ‘care’. If I was a professional athlete, he and the hospital would be sued for medical negligence. After contacting the the Wye Valley Trust, I was told they would only look into if if I can get referred by my GP to a different knee surgeon in a different hospital who confirms there are ongoing issues with my knee. Obviously I have opened a case with the ombudsman regarding this disgusting treatment and I will follow it through to end, just like I have about the awful way I was treated initially too. To say I’ve been treated poorly and let down immeasurably would be an understatement. Mr Eaton
