The lake itself is beautiful and nice to see lots of people on walks around the area, it's got much busier over the past few years. Its a bit frustrating not being able to complete a full lap of the lake at the moment due to the bridge being closed. No sign of when it's due to be fixed or reopened so you kind of have to walk 3/4 of the way and then turn back on yourself. Lots of over grown areas at the moment and doesn't seem to be kept well. Lots of glass in the car park so beware when parking. Parking is free which is always a plus.
Good place for walking the dog. Just need to be wary of walkers who are happy to leave their dogs off lead even when they have aggressive tendencies. Luckily my dog has only been attacked once but the other owner made no effort to retrieve her 2 dogs. Also good for taking the kids on their bikes and scooters as the paths are pretty good. Wouldn't go after dark as it's not well lit.
Used to walk round this lake when I was younger. It’s a quiet place to have a quick stroll with the kids. Plenty of ducks and swans on the lake. Train line runs alongside it so great if your kids love that too. Shame some people have to ruin the area by fly tipping in the car park area.
A lovely lake for feeding the birds, walking around, and generally relaxing. Unfortunately the bridge is closed so there's no circular walk at the moment. Somewhat marred by the very obvious number of drug deals taking place in the car park though. Low life idiots. Needs more genuine park users to help show them they're unwelcome
Nice walk, however the little bridge is shut so you're unable to walk around the lake. Quiet and lovely area.
My husband comes to run here often so he brought me on a walk recently. You can park in the free car park. We came on a week night and it was nice and quiet. Plenty of people were walking their dogs. I use a wheelchair and was able to go around the lake easily. If you enjoy a quiet walk in nature, then this is a great place to visit. We picked some blackberries while we were there. There is a huge amount of them.
Nice for a lockdown walk but doesn't match up to proper country walks but decent for a city, however sometimes can smell a bit as its by the marshes
Lovely place for fishing for local wildlife or just a walk. It's a shame the council don't empty the bins I watched two council workers go past 2 full bins.
Beautiful in the sun. Lovely to walk around with kids/dog. Lots of spots to sit and enjoy the surroundings. There is much wildlife and usually very quiet.
A nice peaceful park perfect for a family trip. There's a lot of ducks and birds so bring food with you.
