The women on the front desk of the urgent care centre should not be working with people who are in pain or need help. They are rude and inconsiderate to all types of people. I arrived 10:55am to my 11am appointment, not knowing where to go as there are no signs. I wasn’t greeted politely but was told this is the right place and to wait. Waited 30 minutes after my APPOINTMENT then waited another 45 minutes to be seen. 111 made this appointment as I opted for an early time to be seen instead of my GP in the afternoon, however I wish I went to my GP as I’ve wasted over an hour of my day so far sitting around to be seen when an appointment has been made. I asked the woman at the desk when I will be seen as I have made an appointment, stressed that I could have gone to my GP if I knew or was told it would be expected to wait so long. The woman at the desk disregarded me waiting as said “well that has been people put infront of you”.nnDo not opt for this place if you are making an urgent appointment with 111
In my opinion, there is nothing urgent or caring about this treatment centre. I was referred by 111, The receptionist was pleasant but the triage nurse did a very poor job at recognising how much agony I was in, even though it was very evident. I am not a queue jumper by any means and I fully understand that children in discomfortable and pain should be seen first so I get how the triage system works. However, I could not understand how any doctor or nurse who clearly saw me rocking in pain and crying with the pain in the waiting room which was especially difficult because of the noise could then leave me in such pain for just over three hours. The person who was with me noticed how those who went in before me, and this would include the children too, certainly did not seem to be in discomfort let alone agony.nnAll I wanted was antibiotics since one half of my face was very swollen with what I think was a tooth abscess. The doctor, though very efficient, was quite curt and, though she prescribed the antibiotics and stronger pain relief for me, was very keen for me to understand that she was not a dentist and that, however my swelling and pain played out, she should not be held accountable for it. If I were able to leave a minus star rating, I would.
Went with my adult daughter this morning 8am, was a long wait, which is nothing unusual now, they are so busy. She was seen by Francis, who was lovely and very professional. X-ray was quick, given a boot for a broken bone. I popped back this evening to enquire about crutches, everyone was so helpful. Great work, Thank you!
Appalling service, I contacted 111 early Saturday morning who stated that I needed to be seen by a doctor the same day and booked me an appointment at the not so Urgent Care Centre for 12.30 that day. I arrived for my appointment at 12.15 and was then seen by a triage nurse who informed me there was then a 5 hour wait to see the doctor as they only have two doctors. What is the point in 111 making you an appointment if the UCC then tell you that you have to wait five hours. This is not an Urgent Care Centre it is a Useless Care Centre. I have only given one star as you cannot rate zero.
Receptionist polite & friendly. Seen quickly by nurses all very professional pleasant and helpful. Fabulous service where would we be without our NHS! Thank you all.
