For a small museum it was crammed with interesting item, it was well worth the visit, and it's free to visit.
First visit to this interesting little museum today. Free entry, helpful volunteers. Lots of interesting items donated charting life in Cornwall. Also a few areas for children to play & explore. workshops for children to learn old crafts and skills.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
What a tremendous museum, for day to day history. This museum has a fantastic display. I could have spent much longer there had I been on my own. Free entry, but definitely make a generous donation to keep history alive.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
I've been to many town museums, and I vote this one way over the top ...0for displays, information, size of the place, staff curtisy, value for money. Worth every penny , whatever your final donation..coffee /tea cafe area self service, easy to get to from the high street bus stop. lift to upper floor display area.. Not to be missed, if you visit Helston..
Lovely friendly staff Nice little find free to go in can give a donation Lots to see even buy a cup of tea or coffee
What A find, may only be small but lots to see. Take the children gives them an idea of how hard life was in the past. Next time we're in the area will be back. It's free entry but donations are welcome to keep the place running.
A great place to spend time in. We'd dropped in to Helston en route to The Lizard and spotted the museum by chance. A warm welcome with lots of advice and suggestions were given. It was great to see the social history of the town spread out before us in the form of everyday items as well as the more esoteric. Lots of information cards for more depth. Marconi exhibition well worth a look. Well curated and volunteer run, and such an asset to the area. It's free but donations can be made.
You could spend hours looking at this huge collection of interesting articles from Cornwalls past - fascinating and really friendly staff. Well worth a pre-booked but Free visit on a rainy day. Well behaved dogs on leads were also allowed in - a real bonus.
Great find. Super to talk through the things I remember from my youth. Good for about an hour and a half with the family. Fascinating and clearly a lot of people have worked really hard to curate this. I liked the Marconi feature and the old portable record players too.
Nice wee place to have a nosy. Staff super friendly and some I treating objects to keep you amused for a while.
