Absolutely shocking. Took money for cleans and after months of constant rearranging, agreed that they could not fulfil service and agreed to refund at a rate of £40 per week. No refund was ever received and have not heard from them in 4 months. Have given deadline of next week to complete refund in full and if not, we will be taking legal action. Cleans that they did complete were substandard, with them often turning up late and leaving early. Also, took photographs of house and dog without permission, posting them on social media.
As with everyone else, they did a few cleans, then said to secure more cleans at the same rate to pay upfront which we did. They then stopped turning up and only after I threatened legal action did I get most of my money back. Owen Sullivan and Martin who I believe are actually the same person were rude, unhelpful and just generally horrible people to deal with. I cannot stress enough how much you should not use this company. I only wish we had seen these reviews before getting sucked in by the cheaper price they offered. They will claim they have a wide variety of stories they use to try and gain sympathy but it boils down to them being scammers and trying to take peoples money and not providing a service, hiding behind non existent t’s & c’s and contracts that they never provide and you’ve never signed. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
Never turned up on time or even the same date. Totally and utterly unprofessional in asking for payment in advance, and never have any intention of returning the money should you be unhappy at their unreliability. I’ve never had to give a one star review before - but this company give customer service a terrible name. You have been warned.
I wish I could give 0 stars! Avoid this company like the plague. Total scammers, do a terrible job, and like everyone else they refuse to give you money back when you ultimately terminate their contract. There is a reason they make you pay up front! Their constant texts and emails border on abusive, they hound you - the lady who responds to the emails is downright rude. I was paying what I was quoted and when we problems they had the audacity to tell me it was impossible to make a living on what I was paying. Which is what they asked me to pay! Constant cancellations, re arrangements, every excuse under the sun - and when they did bother to turn up it was terrible. Nothing nice to say about this low life company. Please just avoid at all costs. Also note someone has said below they are under new management/ownership - THIS IS FALSE!
If you have left a review or have been scammed by Helping Hands Andover - get in touch with your Local Council's Trading Standards and report them. Reports will then be sent to Hampshire Council, enabling them to create a substantial case against Helping Hands. Like so many others I was ripped off by Helping Hands Andover - who took payment for 3 cleans, cancelled, and then refused refund. It's been 5 months since I was promised a refund by Owen Sullivan and I have not received even half of the amount owed - I was told that if I didn't like it, I could take them to Small Claims. When I alerted the apparently new owner Mark Williams who has left the company a stellar 5 stars below that I was in contact with TSA, the administrator Sharon emailed me that Helping Hands would just say they had offered me the cleans. That this business is prepared to lie to Trading Standards to cheat someone out of £120 says a lot about them.
Do not use this company. They are a scam! They did the same thing to me as they did to others who left a review. They performed such a poor clean the first time around, we let them know ways they could improve. They thought they had done a brilliant job must be deluded so both parties agreed to terminate the continued poor service. 6 weeks later they have not reimbursed the £90 they owe us and keep making excuses as to why they haven’t paid. Now they want to only give us £60 as they are highly unreasonable and unprofessional people. They are a horrible firm who think the world owes them a favour and are happy to rip off hard working, good people. Avoid this company at all costs!
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Really wish I’d looked at these reviews before handing over my money. They have £120 of my money; messed me about 3 times with dates just to come and look at our house, then cancelled twice for the first actual clean. I told them not to bother and that I wanted my money back. The owner, Owen, and his admin person both became rude and abusive and said no money back I had to rebook to have them come and clean. They are a complete bunch of crooks.
This company harasses you for payment in advance - one day I received 3 emails in one afternoon wanting the money. We paid £200 - they couldn’t do it for several weeks due to covid and then expected to do it all on one day! When I said we didn’t need 4 weeks worth they said they wouldn’t clean for us anymore, but would honour the cleans already paid for. They then messed us around and agreed to refund but needed a month to do so. I agreed to this but now it’s 2 months they have stopped replying to my emails so small claims court here we come. Honestly, it’s not worth the stress, this company acts as if you are their employees and have to do everything to suit them.
Unfortunately we decided to change our cleaners as we were trying to save a few quid. We had to pay in advance and the service was awful. Owen tried to leave half an hour earlier and when I questioned him - he said he was cold and that was why he had his coat on even thou we have large windows and the sun had been shining in so it was 32- degrees in our open plan room. Nothing was cleaned properly. Far too familiar with you and more interested in our plants than cleaning, rings left where we had drank tea. I’m a really keen cook and there was still bits of grease around our induction hob. When I complained I was told that no complaints before - seriously see the reviews!!! And as per contract 4 weeks notice. I signed no contracts and Sharon would only text and not speak on the phone. After much back and forth we managed to get 90.00 back. Do not go to this company - please!!!!!
Just another voice to the choir about this company and it's practices. Tried to state I needed to give them 4 weeks notice but they hadn't turned up for 4 weeks, and I was like, I haven't signed anything.
