Been to Helen's Bakehouse in Burton Marketplace twice with my partner and we had full English breakfast. The food was excellent. They also have a wonderful selection of fresh cakes, a lovely environment, reasonable prices and friendly staff. Highly recommended.
The staff were lovley, food was so lovely and so reasonably priced! My mum and i shared a doorstop sausage and bacon sandwich and 2 crossaints and all was super! There is treats to take away too which is a lovely idea! We will be returning for more soon!
Excellent cooked breakfast as always, but I have to say it feels like this place is slowly going downhill. Service exceptionally slow 15 minutes before anyone took our order!, it was freezing inside and when we asked about the heating, we were told it’s too expensive, so they only put it on a couple of hours a day. Would have thought that their price increases would have covered heating but doesn’t seem to be the case and not ideal when it’s really cold outside! We sat and ate with our coats on, as did everyone else with the exception of 3 people who were brave enough to take there’s off. Such a shame as this used to be a regular haunt of mine but won’t be anymore.
Many thanks to the staff who totally made my day yesterday, loved my cheese hammy egg toast and coffee. Love my new mug even more , great place to come for food, snacks , cake . Always polite service , home cooked food , nice atmosphere. Thank you again
Wonderful traditional cafe/bakehouse, cakes shop made not factory made. Excellent breakfast and light lunch menu with some innovative options. Very good prices, comfortable if compact seating area. Super staff very friendly.
Amazing little cafe, we thought we had missed the boat for a bit of breakfast but we stumbled across this little gem, great food, great atmosphere and really busy. 100% recommend.Food: 5/5
Love it here. Everything is fresh home made and just lovely. So are all the ladies aswell. We never come away without an extra cake for tea in our bags . Such a lovely place . Helen Collier Vegetarian options: Lots of things on the menu or just ask . Kid-friendliness: Lovely flavours for the children Wheelchair accessibility: Little tight for big chairs but ok. Dietary restrictions: Only ask they know all about their products as there home made.
Nice caffe,good service. they have got gluten free options. My tuna mayo sandwich was quite nice. It was around three pounds takeaway, which is a great price for GF sandwich.
A little bit cramped for space at times, but Helen and her staff are always very friendly and welcoming. Food is of excellent standard every time. Highly recommended.Food: 5/5
