Excellent coffee and a nice place to hang out. The interiors are spacious and they have plenty of outside space. They are dog friendly which is a bonus for me. You'll see lots of delicious cakes and pastries displayed on the counter along with savoury bites ranging from sandwiches to bagels and filled croissants. They can also make you Eggs florentine, portobello mushrooms on toast and avocado on toast. The food is limited but what they do is tasty. they also have a salad bar at lunch. They roast beans on the premises and train baristas so expect a great cup of coffee.
HEJ Coffee is my go-to spot for a fantastic coffee experience! Their Cortado coffee is absolutely superb, delivering a rich and smooth flavor that hits all the right notes. The chocolate loaf cake is a delightful treat, perfectly paired with their delicious beverages.Their decaf latte is exceptional, offering the same great taste without the caffeine. The staff at HEJ Coffee are incredibly friendly and welcoming, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for guests.Whether I'm looking to relax and chill or get some work done, HEJ Coffee is the perfect spot. Plus, the prices are fair, making it even more appealing. For a wonderful coffee experience with top-notch service, HEJ Coffee is the place to be. Five stars well-deserved!
A really great place - popped in for lunch and ended up staying most of the afternoon! Lovely food and salad selection, good coffee , and fast wifi with loads of plugs. Staff don’t mind you plugging in and working. Great atmosphere.Food: 5/5
Was really excited to learn that there is a local roaster in E&C. Ordered the cortado and the filter but neither was really special. Wanted to try the V60 but they said that they do not do hand pours near closing time I was there around 3 pm. The staff weren’t particularly friendly or knowledgeable either. Left not getting a good sense of what the roaster/cafe is really about, and what makes them special.
Lovely coffee house : spacious, quiet, and with stable internet. Staffs are all very friendly. The menu features a good amount of food & drinks. Recommend !Food: 5/5
Been wanting to come for quite some time and was terribl disappointed. Latte was mediocre. Default is large for some reason. Terribly cinnamon bun near opening time. Wasted calories. I asked if it was fresh before ordering and there was not an ounce of freshness to it. Worse thing is, person behind the till recommended it. Will not be returning. Nice place to sit in though
This is my favourite place to grab a coffee and a bite to eat in Elephant & Castle by a mile. The staff are really friendly, everyone who works there is an absolute coffee nerd, all the coffee is roasted on site, half of their blends raise money for charity, and they take sustainability more seriously than any venue I've ever seen. Would recommend the Eggs Benedict and also the fresh salad bar for brunch/lunching options. There's also a huge outside area which really comes into its own in the warmer months. They have really fast WiFi as well – in Spring and Summer it's one of my favourite places to get highly caffeinated work done sitting outside with an iced coffee and a piece of cake. Bliss! P.S. They have a whisky flavoured coffee bean bag that they sell for £10. I've gifted it to half my family and it is INCREDIBLE.
Such a shame. Been going to Hej for a few years now - I have no idea who’s managing this place but they’re doing a spectacularly terrible job. Staff are disengaged and look like they absolutely hate working there. The food and coffee are actually pretty decent but would it kill a member of staff to acknowledge my existence? Last thing, the cafe itself actually used to be quite cool and minimalist in a Swedish way, now it’s just cluttered and looks like a jumble sale.
They roast their own coffee on site! The staff are exceptionally knowledgeable about the coffee they serve so it’s worth asking them for advice on the best bean for your tastes. I personally love the fresh filter which changes daily and is often supporting a local charity. The new salad bar is amazing, I loved the options and thought the price was on point. They even run roasting courses on the weekends, this is surely the best neighbourhood coffee shop in London. Check it out, you won’t be disappointed. The photo is my breakfast of champions, fresh filter coffee and a cinnamon bun! A 10/10 combo.
I was gifted the coffee roasting experience for my birthday and After reading some recent reviews I went in a-bit hesitant as to how the day would go but I could not have been more wrong. I absolutely loved the experience! The host was just perfect. He knew his stuff and I learnt so much and walked away completely satisfied. from start to finish it was great I would highly recommend the experience for me personally it’s been my best day in london so far :
