I have the pleasure of volunteering here weekly and I just love it. The staff and fellow volunteers are a lovely bunch of people who truly care so much about the well-being of the cats and kittens and would do anything for the happiness of the cats there. I have also recently adopted a cat from there and I am totally in love- he brings me joy every single day. The whole process was very smooth and all the relevant documents are in order. If you have space for a furry friend in your home then Heatons is a haven of cats and kittens who have been shown love since the moment they’ve entered. Pics of my gorgeous boy!!
I love volunteering here, the staff are so lovely, warm and generous. They take amazing care of the cats within their rescue and put their well being before anything. It is safe, secure and always very clean. I love volunteering here and would recommend it to anybody with some free time as you will love it as an cat lover.
WARNING! DO NOT APPLY GIVING YOUR SENSITIVE PERSONAL DATA THEY MIGHT POST IT TO FACEBOOK. They publicly posted my location, while calling me a liar. My location which was shared in private email application Because I asked for clarification their rehoming distance policy they make it up as they go along Petty and dangerous people to be involved with. Other more professional and respectful outfits exist who will not TRY TO DOX YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A small charity shop and a huge amount of love for cats. A great place that has expanded a lot over the years and from where we have adopted three cats. I'm impressed by their facility for looking after the animals, many treated truly poorly or suffering from challenging illnesses. They deserve more support for the work they do — I would implore you to donate what you can, whether money or supplies for animal care.
Not a huge amount of stock but I came away with a couple of interesting items, lovely friendly staff.
Staff responded quickly to my enquiry and were able to advise me about which cat would be a good fit for us. We recieved a lot of information about the cat before visiting and they were flexible in giving us a suitable appointment to meet the cat we were interested in. The staff clearly care about the cats and they were very friendly and helpful, without rushing or pressuring us. Great work!
I adopted a cat in 2014 and the staff were really helpful and knowledgeable. They didn't put any pressure on and allowed me plenty of time to look round and choose a suitable t. The cats were all well looked after and the rooms were very clean.
We had a stray cat kept coming to the housend. Rang Heatons Animal Rescue and was told there was no room, fair enough. But was also told not to ring back ad they wereally far to busy. Have heard lots of complaints about this place and how rude the staff are. Fortunately I found a cats sanctury in Stockport where the lady was lovely and very helpful. Will not bother with The Heatons ever again. Staff need training in public relations.
I've been visiting The Heatons for the last seven weeks as I had reserved a young Mum while her kittens were being weaned, so I have got to know all the staff very well. Apart from being very knowledgable and caring towards the cats, they are all lovely people, so the accusation made in the previous review sounds utterly implausible to me. They are rightly careful about where their cats are rehomed and to whom, as all good rescue centres should be. The cats at Heatons are very well cared for, and I liked the fact that, compared to my experiences with the national cat charities, the staff were careful not to be 'pushy' in persuading you to take on a certain cat. On the contrary, they encourage you to take your time and be absolutely sure. Mum and kitten have been with me for seven hours now, and they are an absolute delight, so I think I made the right choice - thank you, Heatons!
A short story about what happened to us a week ago. We wanted to adopt a cat. After few phone contacts we visited the shop, picked an amazin lovely cat and went home with the idea of a further visit from them to see the environment. Well. This visit never happened. We got a call saying that living in a flat is not a good environment for a catLOL. We are a couple in a flat with two bedrooms and a big living room. Plenty of space. But they don't know. Because they didn't visit our flat. Because apparently from the outside was enough. Then I question if they actually made this visit or they just did it via Google maps. Their criterion is as organized as their shop. Superworried, because our conditions of living are not good enough for a cat, we went to another rescue center. Now we have little kitten girl superplayful and purry! Criteria....
