London Heathrow Airport has the most international passenger traffic of any airport in the world. Personally, I think this is probably the best international airport in the world despite having to deal with traffic of up to 100 million people annually. Okay, maybe top 3 but definitely top 5. The best part is the availability of duty free items that travelers can get for a bargain. There's so much to keep you busy that you won't even realize that you have waited for 6 hours for your connecting flight. The staff are also very nice and courteous.

The service is a disgrace. The ticket office is closed, leaving a few terminals and a few staff who cannot help with bookings. The terminals only provide a ticket vending service, so to change or amend a ticket the only option is by phone. In my case, after a 14 hour flight, my phone was out of charge, so I couldn't amend my ticket to get on an earlier delayed bus. Despite this, the driver refused to let me on. Shamefully, the driver waved at me as he left. Absolutely disgraceful customer service.

A lot of travellers dread Heathrow but we had a seamlessly efficient travel experience from Terminal 2. Tube connectivity via the Piccadilly line was convenient about 45-60 min from Leicester Square, Departures area is bright and check-in and security were quick. Decent stores close to the gates with a Harrods.

Note to all travelers that National Express have a strict policy of not letting you on an earlier bus unless you go up to the desk, get in line and change your ticket. So if your plane arrives early and you ran over to the bus station in the hope of catching that bus that’s about to leave , don’t expect to be able to get on it, even if it’s mostly empty, the driver will turn you away and even with only a few people in line the wait can be pretty long to make that change .

Probably one of most common place for any humankind travellers kudos uk for making Heathrow one of those special places
