Just been to the ode heanor town carnival down at the town ground. To be fair the lions roared and turned up in there numbers today to support the event. Had a lovely sausage cob and mushy peas with mint sauce went down a treat from the refreshment section and was very reasonably priced for this day and age!nSome of the other caterers were wanting up to £10 for chips while the football club were doing them for £3!nHad a lovely lucky dip bag from the sweet lady and at a £1 a bag got a reet bargain some lovely sweeties in there!nSat and watched the Aspire Wrestling crew for the rest of the afternoon catching the rays nEven noticed sonic the hedgehog turned up for a few selfies........you just can't make this stuff up pal!
Terrific football club.nnThe Heanor Tifosi behind the away goal were as frightening and imposing as any seen in the history of modern football, and the display in the pitch encapsulated the Hard Brexit tackling and Fantasia-style passing that's missing from the namby pamby school sports day nonsense that passes for professional football nowadays.nnDecent prices all around, warm welcome, proper football.nnInterestingly on my first visit, some scientists from the University of Geography were using a giant spirit level to ascertain whether the perceived slope between the Wilmot End and the Mayfield end actually exists or if it's just some folklore brought about by disenchanted away players.
A friendly club with a cracking bar. Drink is reasonably priced. Food looked fab but didn’t get the chance to have any and was a decent price. Few locals were hostile but given the game.
Only went to have a look at the ground, no game on. Decent ground for this level. Nice bar.
