Admittedly it's not the easiest process for actually getting an appointment even after registering for online services but I can't fault the care I received recently from the surgery. Peter nurse recently took bandages and stitches out for me and was so careful and caring, he put me completely at ease. I also had to call to request a same day prescription for medication and it was dealt with very efficiently by one of the doctors.
Can't fault this surgery, the staff are amazing. I'm extremely grateful for the support they've provided me and my family over the years. Fair play, it can be a bit of a nightmare getting through on the phone when busy, but it's not the surgery's fault - speak with your local MP about it if it's an issue, little point grumbling at reception staff. Thanks TMP, keep up the good work!
I record all calls with this place. As a protection and as assurance this wasn't a nightmare I'd had. If you are unfortunate to find a weekly prescription hasn't went through and the pharmacy don't have the medications prescribed to you by a G.P. then beware. The staff would take my details and tell me they'd call back. On calling back they would say, " the doctor isn't going to do an emergency prescription." I asked, " Who is the doctor that made this decision?" "I don't know", i was told. I asked how long before the prescription was put through and was told up to 3 days. I asked again, "who is the doctor making this decision?". Again, "i don't know." Considering the medications i take this "emergency prescription" decision was incompetence, mal practice, call it what you will. And it would be good to know what doctor had deemed me unworthy of an "emergency prescription" so i could avoid them like covid in future as they would seem to be unfit for duty. The person i was talking with lost the plot when i said, "This is punishment for making a mistake in ordering meds and...." She cut in and shouted, "your punishing them!" I did get through to a doctor. Told her what had happened, how I was being told to go without medication for up to 3 days and how distgusting i found this to be. "Yes. It's protocol", she said as though that were a justification. She seemed amused by my shock. The doctor then dictated to me that she would do half the supply today and half tomorow. I said this was highly unusual and I would not accept it. She screamed at me. Then did the whole prescription in a oner. This doctor i avoid like covid. The courior had a story about this health centre on the 19th january that must have had the practice writting prescriptions to one another. They have a zero tolerence policy about abuse We know. They have it plastered over every wall in the place instead of something pleasent to look at So if the practice isn't backing up their staff when and if abused and implementing this policy then isn't the practice at fault? "The NHS is falling apart", the courior quoted. I know. The bloke on telly says theyr'e more overwhelmed than at the height of the pandemic. To think: all those pots ruined in vain.
Covid left me with a few issues I can only compliment Dr Muir for her excellent after treatment Only problem now is trying to get a follow-up appointment
The worst practice I have been registered to! We moved to Tranent last October. The town has about 10000 people living here and there is only one practice? Is this a joke?! The appointment can be only made in the morning when it takes ages to get through! You can't call at 8 for appointment because it's too early! And you won't get any appointment after 9.30 because there are none left! I have been on the phone for about 45minutes to an hour before and made about 70+calls to get through!!! It's disgrace! They should get their finger out and come up with better strategies!
Girlfriend phoned in at 0830 and got told she sounded like she was in an ‘unsafe environment’ as she wasn't long since waking up, call handler hung up after telling her she’s to phone back when she’s in a more safe environment. Reception staff should take a long hard look at themselves for the way they treat their patients if these reviews are anything to go by this has been an issue for a number of years. If you really hate your job that much, find a new one, simple as. No need to be so rude to people for trying to receive medical assistance. Get rid of the reception staff and find others who actually deserve to be a part of the community.
This is the worst medical practice I have ever had the misfortune to be a patient of in my life. If I could go somewhere else I would, but that is not an option The staff are rude, and in my opinion poorly trained in dealing with the public. The practice manager should be sent on a public relations course as soon as possible . I do believe the job is beyond her capabilities Your reviews are shocking, but then again are they ever read I think this is doubtful. If I could give you no stars I would
Ordered medicine and found out it had not been sent to the chemist, called the surgery up and explained I cannot be without my tablets and I need them today only to be told I can't gaurentee that. Appalling behaviour. I hate having to make contact with them
I registered online with the practice on Wednesday, called up this morning and got an appointment at 10am. Dr Reeks was caring, friendly and professional and the reception staff were friendly as well. Couldn’t expect anymore and pleasantly surprised after all the negative reviews on here.
In these difficult times, for all and their health and well being, it can make you feel good to compliment an organisation that does care and help you ! We all have opinions, which we respect, but this medical practice gets a huge thanks from me. For over 4 years as a patient, with all my medical needs, all the team there have been so very helpful, kind and caring towards me. All the receptionists are helping and supportive, whether l am in the surgery, or l call them ! Also my own GP, Dr.Reeks, again has looked after my health needs, so very well. All the doctors need a thumb's up, especially these sad times we are experiencing at the moment. A genuine thank you to everyone at the practice. From Alexander Le Grice
