A health professional at salisbury hospital has accused me of being struck off by three practices , I had a rant with this practice who didn't follow protocol and only told me to n longer be a patient or the police would be sent on the back of the phso, now its true I went to two other practices before coming back to yourselfs , but none of the 3 struck me off , Tisbury was rubbish , but Albany practice was great , I'm now with millstream , I went private , turns out I'm diabetic, Albany practice looked to see if you had tested myself I have pcos , diagnosed at your practice but you did not test for diabetes, I'm now on humilin, I'm assuming my rant led the health professional to assume the mistake I'd been struck off . TCPOLTON, I'm willing to hold a conversation with yourselfs .my real name is Tammy Polton...6 months and no response ..
Excellent service in every way - people who complain about long waiting time should realise how busy the proactive always is with thousands of patients on their lists ! Not perfect of course - but what is - if you are really sick you will be seen spoken to or be in Odstock the same day! You may not see a doctor but there are many qualified nurses and practitioners who can see you. For quick diagnosis/ info - I sometimes go to Boots for quick and free advice from the Pharmacist- often saves a trip to Medical Centre .Try it
The past 2 years life has been hard as I lost my brother to lung cancer. Doctors and Receptionists have been amazing.and can't thank the staff enough. Recently I have had problems with my heart and was admitted to hospital and again Doctors and Receptionist at Abbey View were amazing only a phone call away to get some reassurance. I would never have got through the past 2 years without Abbey View Medical Centre. Thank you Douglas
Most appalling doctors surgery I have ever experienced. After feeling extremely ill for a very long time I was routinely gaslighted by pretty much all of the drs there except Perkins who i recommend , when finally a consultant diagnosed me with cancer, late on set allergies, multiple chemical sensitivites and several autoimmune diseases. I was routinely told there was nothing wrong with me & that i was "FINE" thanks Dr Ferguson I was not well at all. I had a serious life threatening illness , and was repeatedly made to feel like I was imagining it all when infact I had cancer. I complained directly to the surgery several times but got nowhere and certainly no apology . Avoid this surgery unless you enjoy being made to feel silly for asking for help.
We were in Shaftesbury visiting family for Christmas and my daughter was ill - chesty cough, very congested. A doctor called me back within an hour and talked at length with me about her cough, demeanor etc.He said if I was very concerned I could bring her in that day, otherwise they always had a dr on call to speak to. I was very happy with the level of care and quick response! Excellent and caring.
Always seem like the doctors want rid of you quickly .they give you ridiculous diagnosis' like "it's due to the cold weather". And I have to wait 2 weeks for a telephone callback and not even receive a call .it's disgraceful. Another NHS surgery wasting tax payers money!
The Doctor's and nurses are excellent, the receptionists also are very helpful and try to get you in to what is a very busy practice.....The parking is the weakest link and can be awful, sometimes it is gridlocked.
Excellent surgery. The new triage system works well. Unfortunately too many people complain about things they can put right themselves. Use the online appointment system and utilise all surgeries within the group. If there are no appointments on the day someone will always ring back and offer appointment if needed. Triage system is excellent.
Appointment: 8th March 12-00noon. Breisgau Blood test. Unfortunately, on this occasion, the nurse in question appeared rather incapable. For the first time in my experience - for previously, there has been no problem and the blood test in every case has been virtually painless - the nurse in question, was unable to find any blood after causing a considerable and unnecessary amount of pain in the first instance. She then tried my other arm, and a similar amount of pain was caused in taking the blood, but in this case she was at least successful. The discomfort in both arms was obvious even after one hour, but particularly still bad in one arm. This nurse should be very careful of causing unnecessary distress in extracting the blood of older people who do not have a good vein structure. I have always previously been told that my own was particularly good due probably to my athletic interests in the past. So it is incomprehensible why this nurse had so much difficulty. A not very pleasant experience!
I’ll give it 2 stars just based on the fact you still have dr Yule and dr horner who do a great job. The last 2 surviving doctors from when it was a very good surgery. There’s also one lady who works on the front desk with the dark hair who does her job well, and think she’s been there a while too. As for the rest who work on that desk. What a bunch of rude arrogant obnoxious people they are. Unfortunately the doctors have given them to much power. So sad that a great surgery has gone this bad. It will be even worse when those names above leave.
