I don’t understand why the reviews are so bad recently, I’ve never had a problem with this surgery. I can phone any time of day and get through within 5 mins, and I often get an appointment the same day. I rarely have to wait longer than a week for an appointment, compared to 10 years ago you’d book 2-3 weeks in advance. The staff are helpful and nice too, not rude like others have said
Appointments hard to come by - care navigators and phone system obstructive but near harassment on checking in for Covid boosters - I’m backing Andrew Bridgen MP on his quest to investigate mRNA vaccine injuries and deaths - I’ve lost all faith in medicine and big Pharma!
Some of the receptionist, doctors and pharmacy team are amazing! Management should really look into alot of there staff including there doctors, as they are the ones giving a bad name for the health centre. I was refused by the doctor to be seen, the receptionist rang me back up to let me know. I was told to go to my pharmacist instead. I was very addiment to see or speak to a doctor and waited for a phone call. After a few hours had passed and not hearing anymore. I was taken down to topside pharmacy, who immediately gave me a referral back to see my gp. My gp was shocked that I'd been refused to be seen and sorted me out with the correct medication, I asked her to send this to the health centre as topside would of been shut. When I went to the health centre pharmacy, I was told it had gone to boots- only to be told the next day that it was at the health centre all along. Due to this I have become more unwell. This isn't the first I've had problems at the health centre with numerous staff, which is such a shame as some staff are amazing.
If I could give 0 stars I would! Been living in Chipping Norton all my life, originally registered to west street surgery. Every time I call it’s the same couldn’t care less attitude telling me I’ve got a 6 week wait to speak to my doctor on the phone! An absolute joke, the worst surgery in the uk!
Got a text from my gp asking me to book an appointment, only to get told by the phone system that they can't book appointments for me and the gp has to do it, I can't get in direct contact with my gp so I'm stuck. Ever since covid it has been practically impossible to get an appointment when I need to because of their phone system and reception. You can't book appointments on their website or patient access which I would prefer to do due to a panic disorder when using the phone. A person with an auto immune disease is not be able to see their doctor. Edit: 26/04/2022 - My mother just rang up, waited in queue for ages and when someone got on, she asked to book an appointment for me and the receptionist hung up without saying a word! Absolutely disgraceful, avoid at all costs, their receptionists clearly practice dangerous levels of neglect.
Absolutely appalling service. It takes around 20 minutes to get through to reception then another week or so before a doctor telephones . The doctor will very rarely see you face to face and it takes another week or so if you do see a doctor . Then the doctor invariably keeps you waiting for at least half an hour. My wife needed to have a face to face consultation but could not get any communication . We ended up having to pay to see a specialist. My wife needs stents . To this day there has been no contact from a doctor at the centre. Absolutely ,disgracefully appalling. My rating is actually - 10.
Thank you Chipping Norton Health Centre staff for all your tireless work in this challenging times through the Covid-19 pandemics. Recently had a very serious family situation and the receptionists and the doctors were working together to help my family as much as they could. Efficient, caring and professionals. Much appreciated and your work does not go unnoticed.
"Care navigators" are rude ; insensitive phone operators on a short fuse and having a vendetta against patients. The surgery is a joke. Note that this was going downhill BEFORE Covid and the pandemic just made it easier for the surgery to hitch their ineptitude and disgraceful service to the pandemic wagon. Utter disregard to patient care and the place is run like something out of Monsters Inc. Perhaps they make money off screams.
Trying to get through can be agonising. If you want to speak to a doctor you are advised to phone in the morning around 8.30am. Once you manage to get through to a care navigator my last call initially 23rd in the queue 45 minutes later I was then told that my doctor was not in on that day. Call back on the days that she works which is on a Wednesday morning or a Friday 1 1/2 days a week !. I then called back on the day that they worked to wait over 35 mintues to be told all the appointments for that day have already gone !.
By far the worst receptionists/care navigators anyone could ever encounter. Minimum 10 minutes wait time to talk to anyone and then they put the phone down. All I wanted was their e mail address for a complaint to the practice manager. Patients have the right to respect. They are not doing us any favors but you'd think so by their attitude. Appalling.
