Doctors surgeries get a lot of bad press, and generally it is because they are so busy, all the time. Haverhill Family Practice are really really good, the reception team are friendly, helpful and always do thier best for you. The medical team are also amazing, my family have always felt looked after whatever the ailment may be. Thank you

Fantastic surgery. I have always been able to get an appointment when needed and staff go out of their way to help. The practice nurses are amazing and thorough. There is much negative press regarding surgeries and staff at the moment but I want to give positive praise as these lovely people deserve thanks.
Best surgery I’ve been to..! Been living here now for 21 months and have never felt like I’ve ever been listened to more,5 star service from reception to the doctors to the pharmacy..nKeep up the fantastic work…
On 6th June my husband went to see GP with chest pain. His ECG showed variations -GP advised to go to A&E as an emergency. A&E ECG also showed variations and he was on heart monitor for few hours and he got diacharged with the pain - advised to take pain killers for the on going chest pain for more than a week. Eventhough his blood results came back normal our major concern is that his mother and brother have a history of heart problem.nnAgain on 12th June he went to see GP with the same chest pain as we had been told by the A&E doctor to contact GP to get an ECG done if the pain get worse or any concerns. He was seen by doctor at the family practice. She has referred him to Cardiology department. No updates until today [9days now]. I am writing to raise my biggest concern regarding the reception team who attend the phone call. They are extremely rude on the phone- not willing to listen what we have to say. They always ask us to go to A&E. I would like to know if GP is for emergency only as I have noticed majority of the time receptionist are refusing to give us an appointment to see the doctor on the same day. According to my knowledge A&E is for emergency and GP is to treat all common medical conditions.nnToday we called at 2pm waited for 40min to speak to someone and we have been told either to go to A&E or they can give us an appointment on next tuesday for my husband's chest pain and from today 12:30 on wards his pain was radiating to his back. We don't know whether the pain was related to chest pain or not but they don't even have the patience to listen to our concern. Spoke to a member of staff initially she was extremely rude and arrogant on the phone to my husband. she put us on hold in the middle of the conversation and passed the call to the team lead. Compare to the others she was bit better to communicate with. Team lead said she will call us back after discussing with the duty doctor and called us back with in 15mins. But we were very disappointed with the message as she stated that the doctor said my husband needs to go to A&E for more investigation as he was not willing to see or talk to my husband. How can a receptionist assess a patient with chest pain and ask the patient to wait untill Tuesday for a doctors appointment because she thinks it's not serious enough to be seen by a doctor and she stated that we only take emeregency and then later she said go to A&E if its emergency. So I am very confused with her statement.nnWe both work in CUH addenbrookes hospital, we understand that they are facing very stressful situation on a daily basis but this is their job and they have no right to treat us like this when we call for help. We have many recorded phone calls to prove how rude these receptionists when we approach to get an appointment. I don't know why we have to argue with these reciptonist to see a doctor. We have been treated like this almost every time we call. Is it because of our non British accent??. They don’t even bother to offer a phone appointment to get doctor’s advice. They were eager to send him to A&E.nnIn reality I don’t even want to give one star but I have to give a star to post my feedback.nnI placed a complaint with the names of the people/staff who are involved but I don’t want to drag their name in a public platform as I am a professional.
