Nice circular walk around here, lots of hides to watch the wildlife, we went hoping to see a red squirrel but no joy, seen lots of birds, rabbits, sheep, swans, ducks, pheasants and a deer. Nice and quiet, spent about an hour and half here. Dog-friendliness: No dogs allowed.
Enjoyed a nice relaxed walk with the kids along the nature reserve. Great for bird watchers although you need to perhaps create your own fun if you have young kids.
A lovely reserve. £2 carparking for non-members down a lane with some very steep speedbumps. Friendly, helpful staff in the visitors centre. Well maintained accessible path around the reserve with well position hides giving good views of the lake. Tasty café with friendly staff and good views of the lake.
Place of great tranquility. Good, well signed paths, well maintained bird hides and excellent visitor centre and cafe with wide vista across the lakes. Helpful and friendly staff too. Access on foot along the national coastal path or car, minutes drive from Amble.
Great nature reserve and the cafe is one of the best I've been to in the area.
Great place one of the Northumberland Wildlife Trust reserves, water fowl, sea and shore birds. Particularly good for Tree Sparrows. Nice cafe, free entry but paid parking.
We visit here all year round, in all weathers. Love the walk round the lake and always eat in the cafe. Staff are fab. It's our 'go to place'. Very lucky to live so close.
Live local, but our first time here, typical when its right on your doorstep. What a lovely warm welcome from the lady on reception, explained everything and pointed us in the right direction. Absolutely gorgeous , lovely steady 45 minute walk around the reserve, plenty to see, and its a must to go to the on site cafe , the best homemade scones ever !! We will be regulars
Great place to enjoy nature. Really enjoyed the walk around the lake.
Great place to tire out my grandson. He was fascinated by the birds. Well looked after. Will return at some point with sandwiches so that we can stay a bit longer.
