A lovely Church. It has it's own parking, but if you cannot find it the nearby roads have parking. There's quite a steep hill up towards the church.. Little Johns Grave can be found on the left as you walk in through the main archway. It's a nice sized church and the grounds are well kept. Very peaceful. A pleasure to see !
Our long and winding walk across the grit edges took us back toward Hathersage via the Churchyard, and inevitably the famous long grave. There clearly is some connection to the Robin Hood legend, on a previous day, we had walked up to, and scrambled on Robin Hood Stride, a pile of rocks near to Cratcliffe. It is a fascinating twist on the story, and a lovely corner of a rather magnificent Victorian churchyard
Beautiful setting, well maintained grounds, lovely family service, imaginative engagement with children and families.
Lovely church with much history to read and see inside and out. Beautiful stained glass windows, remembrance books, organ and architecture. Little John's grave is just opposite entrance to church between 2 yews. Fully accessible for wheelchairs, scooters and other mobility aids via main churchyard entrance. Some steps via carpark entrance.
Well worth the walk up the hill to the church. Little John's grave was interesting and the Commonwealth grave section was moving.
Lovely little church with Little John's grave. A bit of a walk up a steep hill if you have the legs, but worth the trek. A car park is available for those who require it. Dogs allowed on leads, so went for a morning walk with my dog while in town.
Beautiful little church. The sound of the bells ringing was lovely. Would have had a look round inside, but there was Sunday Service on. Nice to visit Little John's Grave too.
Lovely quiet church We often sit here and eat our packed lunch. This week we started from Longshaw, beautiful place to start followed the Hounds Kirk road and cut across Bubage Rocks to the Fiddlers Elbow car park and the bridge over the Bar brook. Then with Higgers Tor on our left descended to St Milchaels Church and lunch returning via the Mill Stone Inn and the drain. 9 miles 1850 feet of assent Lovely days walk about 6 hours
A lovely historic church. Little John's grave is in the churchyard. Beautiful stained glass inside. The tomb that was the inspiration for 'Jane Eyre ' is situated here too. The information book is full of historical data. Well worth a visit...Lovely peaceful atmosphere.
Lovely quiet church with a beautiful exterior. The grave yard also has the grave stone of Little John one of Robins Hood's merry men. Well worth visiting if you are in Hathersage.
