As always I ended up at the wrong eatery. And what a pleasant experience, I hadn’t been to a Harvester restaurant in years, well not to eat anyway, I thought, do they still have eat as much salad as you can, and yes they do, after 3 bowls of salad the main arrived . we ordered:- THE VEGGIE COMBO V for 2, Grilled Mediterranean vegetables, honey-grilled halloumi, golden rice, BBQ pit beans, slaw and chips. Served with a tomato and smoked paprika dip. Ashton’s seal of approval on the Macaroni cheese and ice cream, All I can say ‘for pub grub’ it was ‘awesome’ I didn’t eat the Slaw, and only a couple of the chips, a little more of the rice and veg instead would have been lovely. Great meal thanks. Sorry about the mess!!! PS Love the Murals
Very Enjoyable! Felt so welcomed and comfortable. Food was delicious and fast service. Staff were all so friendly and happy to help. Would definitely visit again :
The waitress was lovely. Both of our first and second options were unavailable. Food was under portioned and burnt. The lady cleaned the table for us before we sat down because it was still dirty from the last guests. But the spray bottle was empty so she just wiped it. They also seated us a table for 2 next to a huge group celebrating a birthday which was loud and disrupted the atmosphere a bit. When we complained about the food the butternut squash pasta the waitress said that “the kitchen staff agree its a really small portion” and “it was down to the suppliers” but told us she would let her manager know that the customers werent satisfied.
Went to the Fountain for Christmas Lunch and had a very enjoyable meal. Food was great and good value. Staff were excellent as usual. There was an issue with the extractor fan which meant the restaurant was smokey. Wasn’t too bad sitting down. Only when standing it became more noticeable. You could tell the smoke was making some of the staffs eyes sore. However they ploughed on and continued to provide good service. Shout out to Leah who was on hand to help whenever we needed something. Only thing to ruin the day were other customers moaning about the food or the drink just because it got them discount. Ignore the moaners. The food was to a high standard and tasted great. It was so good I booking in for breakfast on Boxing Day. Same good food. Same good service. Thank you to everyone at the Fountain for making it a good day.
Great meal, very happy with the service on the night and the timing of the starters, mains and deserts. There were 10 of us eating and we never felt like we were waiting too long for our order. The waiters/waitresses were very polite and helped us arrange balloons and banners for our arrival and worked with us to bring the cake out when we needed it, excellent service!
Visited in the week for a work meal out. We all ate from their Christmas menu and no complaints from anyone especially with the salad bar too! The service from our waitress Kay was also excellent. A lovely young lady who made us feel welcome all evening very friendly and smiley Just be cautious with the ceilings if you’re tall
A long time since my last visit for food. Sticky menu's and tables. I had half chicken which was nice. The accompanying fries were far too salty and the sweetcorn must of been on the boil for a couple of days pure mush. The salad bar wasn't particular fresh either. 50% off mains voucher made it more acceptable.Food: 2/5
Just had the most pleasant experience in this restaurant; the server Bethany Barr was utter exemplary. One has never known of such glorious; resplendent kindness and warmth. Thank you Bethany Barr. You're a wonderful young lady.
We had a lovely birthday meal, and the salad bar area has now gone back to the 'normal self service' which is fantastic Another fabulous evening with good food and a wonderful atmosphere. A firm favourite of my son, his preference for a meal out with the parents!!Food: 5/5
We weren't given plates for the salad bar, so after a while we had to ask for them, then as soon as we sat down with the food from the salad bar our main meal arrived! It wasn't good and we felt very rushed and there was no apology for the delay in bringing the salad bowls out. There was also no music playing so it felt like we were in a museum, there was no atmosphere and it wasn't a relaxing and comfortable meal out. It's such a shame as it's become our family tradition to come to the Harvester on the last day of term to kick off the Christmas holidays, but with the lack of atmosphere and service we're not sure we'll do it again. Parking: Good parking, there are plenty of spaces.
