Me and my group of friends have been a regular at Bradford Toby’s for years. We went elsewhere mid-late last year as the standard slipped and it was no longer enjoyable. Through word of mouth we heard a new manager had taken over and standard was higher than before. They were correct. We met Andy and instantly felt welcomed. We were reassured that our stay would be enjoyable and it sure was. It was nice to see management friendly, down to earth and interacting with customers rather than nowhere to be seem. The food was amazing, service I couldn’t fault and lovely to see a manger than actually seemed to care about the business. Word of mouth was right, the best visit we’ve had so far, our Toby Thursdays are back on. Glad to be back and better than ever!
The meat and vegetables were well presented and plentiful BUT were not very warm and being served with a cold plate, the meal soon became cold. This. unfortunately, is not unusual and is the reason we do not attend the restaurant as much as we would wish. Your other restaurants have a similar problem. The 50% off e-mail voucher was appreciated. Parking: There is usually plenty of parking but remember to record your vehicle registration at Reception
Great meal. Same decor as most Toby carvery’s. Is a busy one so make sure you book before arriving. Never had so many meat choices, there was pork, ham, turkey, lamb, beef and pigs in blankets. The mashed and roast potatoes were excellent. They even had Mac and cheese which was a good addition.
We went to Toby Carvery for the first time in quite a few years. The food was really nice, good selection of meats and vegetables. Staff were pleasant. The only thing I would say that could improve the restaurant is new carpet or tiles round the food area and looks a little unsightly but will definitely visit them again. Parking: Free parking you just have to enter your car registration before being seated.
The carver who served the carvery needs to be more respectful to customers who have dietary requirements, but the meal was amazing, and I loved how you can go back to get more vegetables. I also really liked the Unlimited soft drinks, however, the floor where the drinks machines are was wet and slippery
Awful experience yesterday me and my sister's normally go for a carvery once a month if we can, So when we turned up wasn't that busy yet had to wait at front for a while to be seated as seemed to be only two people at front working and when finally seated went to get food and this was a first for us the carver asked us what meat we wanted and we told him which he proceeds to cut and give us one really small slice of each turkey and beefI asked for more meat and he said were not allowed yet this is the first time we have ever had such small baby portions as everything they had out was just getting shuffled into takeout boxes they cared more about boxing up than food then people who actually there to eat And to make it worse it got busy and with only two waitresses it got backed up and wasn't helping that all the cooks where more focused on getting takeout orders ready then serving people there, was actually a waste of money picked up mcdonald's on way home the portions where that small.
I regularly meet friends at TC on Rooley Lane, its a great place and the best TC in the local area by far. Currently opening later due to staff shortages and when I turned up early, I was let in out of the cold to keep warm. Spoke to Coral the new Assist Mgr. Absolute fantastic service. Thank you!
Went today for the first time. No staff to greet us for a while so sat down. The lady wasn’t impressed but at the same timing waiting ages to be seated isn’t great either. She kept saying it was short staffed which is understandable but what are we to do. She was prompt with our drinks when we did get to order We got the Calvery and waited for a chef for 10 minutes just to serve the meat. The food was very average The drink station was absolutely soaking on the floor The deserts were dry. It may have been a bad day but would not Recommend.
Having booked a table it was annoying to have to wait 45 minutes to begin the meal. The waiter said they were short staffed but this had been booked for a few months! Totally unacceptable considering the group were elderly people - most over 80 years old. The meal itself was tasty - the meats were juicy and there was plenty of choice. Spoilt by having to wait for so long.
Bradford is one of my top 5 Toby Carvery's. Staff were really busy, due to the 50% off main meal offer. Staff: Polite, friendly and over-worked. One of the cooks seemed very angry and showed his anger behind the serving area, not very professional in front of the customers waiting for food. The serving staff are really friendly Joseph Jo is a credit to the restaurant and I have dealt with him several times, his attitude towards myself and my friends and family has always been Excellent. So much so they have commented to me about him positively I do not know him personally. There was a chap serving the drinks I have forgotten his name but he was again chatty and funny, chatted to everyone and was very engaging, and again was excellent and efficient service. The manager of the restaurant seem run off her feet, I tried to have a little banter not been rude etc, just fun, and did not really engage in the interaction. So much so a family member said she was not friendly. I did not feel that way about the lady, just that she was preoccupied and maybe tired as it would have been a long shift. Overall 8/10. Food: The Beef which was a little fatty, Turkey, Hamm and Pork were really nicely cooked. The vegetables were well cooked warm and flavoursome. Overall 9/10. Restaurant: The tables were clean, cutlery again clean. Restaurant decor again was up to date, I noticed a couple of the chairs needing repair. Overall it is a well used venue and this attracts families, single people, couples and people of all ages. Overall 7.8/10. Overall Rating: I enjoyed my meal and so did my family and friends. We will come back again in the next future. Thank you for the great service. PS: this is a genuine review, from a genuine paying customer who visited 05/01/23, table for 9, 18:45.
