Had all but given up hope of finding both great food and service. The food and service here weren't just great, they were exceptional. All of the staff had personality and clearly enjoy their job. They were all outstanding in all aspects of customer service, never once forgetting or neglecting us despite it being extremely busy and the fact we were up 2 flights of stairs in the eaves. Seating us in the eaves was an act of consideration, as there was a large party of rather merry young women downstairs, very much enjoying themselves. As for the food, wow. Chefs clearly very skilled and on top of their game. Everything creative, full of flavour and cooked to perfection. I didn't think £70 for 2 x 2 courses, including 2 cocktails was pricey at all. The portions are generous too. An obviously very popular restaurant, with a vibrant vibe. All in all very difficult to fault in any way. Needless to say, we will be returning.
What a fantastic place! Spread over 3 floors, great dining experience for such a large party. ALL the staff were excellent but special praise for Freya. We were a large party of around 20 people and we were expertly catered for. The food is very good and was served by very a very friendly, young team which genuinely enjoyed their work. The team at the bar were equally impressive and I can't wait to go back. Thanks to everyone involved.
Modern vibe in an old building. Had Sunday lunch which was very good. What let the place down was the really poor service. After a long wait, had to wave to a member of staff to take our order. Then an exceedingly long wait for our meal. Not the worst thing in the world, but once again had to ask if there was a problem. No complaints over the lunch it was fine, however, no one came to ask if all was ok. Then once finished had ask three times for the bill & a card machine to pay. Lots of small things, which combine to make for a poor dining experience. Sadly was unable to leave a tip for the reasons outlined above. Four stars for the meal, sadly one star for the service.
First visit and was very impressed! Great food, fantastic cocktails and friendly helpful staff, will definitely be going back!!
Amazing food, fantastic atmosphere, and attentive friendly service! I Had the hanging kebab and it was delicious!!!! My partner had the burger and loved it. Topped off with a delicious birthday brownie at the end with a big sparkler. Special mention to Jack who made our dining experience great!
Had our junior football club meal there yesterday. Absolutely faultless - the food was plentiful and delicious, good portions, the staff were helpful, friendly and polite and the place itself is clean and pretty. Thanks for a lovely afternoon. Hope the football went your way! Vegetarian options: I had a bhaji burger and it was delicious.
Saw the five stars already given so went there. Clean tidy and warm atmospher. Tables well spaced too. Good range of food on the menu and at fair prices by today's standards. I had pizza. Well has to be said at about £13 it was the best I've ever had. A very lightsoft base with a crispy outer surface, no burnt hard bits but a well structured base. Perfect in fact. Topping generous and tasty. My wife had a salad which she enjoyed very much. Service was prompt and efficient. Drinks arrived within two minutes of ordering. Don't hesitate to use this place. Value is right there at the top. I'm not sure you'll get any better anywhere else and I doubt at these prices. Full five stars. Parking: The coop parking area is close by about five minutes walk. It was 90p for three hours. Bargain. Well done Holmfirth.
We all had a fantastic evening on a very busy Saturday night in this wonderful Holmfirth venue called Harvey's. Firstly as soon as you enter Harvey's both the quality of the building and the wonderfull atmosphere they have managed to create makes it immediately an enjoyable experience. There after the service was from the hard working members of their team was both friendly and professional and could not be faulted in anyway. The meal was a joy, well presented and most importantly the food tasted absolutely fantastic. We all had a really enjoyable evening and hopefully a return visit to Harvey's in the very near future beckons.
A crowd-pleasing menu with something for everyone. Service is very good. The bar is pleasant. The decor is well done The atmosphere is good when busy but the first floor dining area is a bit soulless when less than full. Overall it's a good destination for all types of dining groups. However the food fails to deliver. Much of it is competent if lacking in flavour. My steak was the most anaemic piece of meat I've had in a long time. Our party was also disappointed in their roast lunches. Similarly tasteless roast beef. A shockingly dry slice of 'nut roast'.
Staff very attentive and polite whilst always maintaining that service - they couldn’t do enough for is. Delightful menu and well prepared, presented and delicious- can’t wait for our next visit.
